I think these machines are huge win for CanAm and the ATV market in general. Definitely gonna miss the 650 twin, but prioritizing affordability was a solid move. I think these machines answer a lot of the market was asking for, especially with the accessories, storage space, and rack utility. The Chassis seems pretty long, is CanAm considering this 2-up capable and offering a rear seat? Awesome review Mike!!!

Thanks man! I agree with all your points here. I was skeptical about this engine before riding it, but I was genuinely impressed with how this whole machine worked. I hope it isn't the end of the 650 V-twin, but I do think this line is going to sell like crazy.

I am now a service tech for a local Cam Am dealer and have got to dig deep into the new outlanders and I am falling in love with them! They are built well, look great, and have plenty of power. Also having the exhaust exit straight out of back of the motor means no more scorching your right leg! I still think the higher end models have too much tech in them so I’m curious what kind of issues we’ll see but that’s something time will tell. It’s probably bad I work for a dealer now as I’m going to be tempted by all the machines on a daily basis😂.

Great review. I am wanting one. The HD7 is NO JOKE. I have it in my 22’ defender max. And it’s a torque monster in it in low. And it’ll get to 64 mph. I can only imagine how good it is in a atv. I miss riding atvs. When the boys are old enough for their own wheels I plan to go back to the atv. There’s really not a perfect side by side out there for a family of 5. None the less awesome review

Bought a G2 Hunting edition completely upgraded with options and set up for the farm with rancher protection. I only purchased it in Feb 23. I have 1500 km on it, But I want to upgrade to the HD7. It looks like a lot simpler machine to service, the suspension looks better and easier to service. I hated the torsion suspension on the previous models, It has more clearance than the G2. The engine mounting of the twin also made it extremely hot in the summer. I just hope I don't regret my decision as it will cost me a couple grand to trade.

I would like to see a head to head comparison vs a Sportsman 570 Trail. Bought a 2022, liked it so much I sold my 2019 Grizzly 700 EPS and added a 2023 570 Trail to the fleet. I actually had electrical and clutch issues with the Grizzly from new. Very Impressed with both Sportsman Trails so far, and cost me $3500 CAD less than a new Grizzly EPS... and the Sportsman came with decent tires, front bumper and a winch.

I think this is THE model to buy from the new HD7/700 lineup. Only thing is, from watching other reviews, it’s likely best to do a thorough once over on the whole quad to make sure all bolts and clamps are torqued and everything is assembled and packaged nicely. I also don’t like the sunken rear rack, just because for my needs I would add a 2up seat+storage (Kimpex Nomad). The sunken area seems like dead space, and even with a Linq bin as shown in the video it is wasted space. I think I would add cross bars as filler so a seat would sit nicely

Agreed That cavity doesn't work well. I tried to fill that space with a narrow flat tool box from Rigid but it wouldn't fit. The Can-Am 10L box is too small to be worth the effort. They need an accessory box that fits in there perfectly. I plan on building two hinged spreader bars that span the gap to create a flat surface.

I bought the Outlander 700 Pro HD7 a couple months back and I love it. Only have a couple hundred miles on it but it is a wonderful ATV. I primarily use it on trails and it's quite comfortable. I set it up with mirrors, windshield, 3500 lb winch (didn't come with it), and the rear cargo container (smaller one cause I like the profile and besides, it was enough storage for me). I also like the ride by wire that it has. I think only the Pro's and the XMR come with this. If you're in the market for an ATV, I would definitely suggest you take a look at the new Can Am's. I'd be glad to answer any questions

I have only ridden this PRO and the XMR. Love the PRO for trail riding. Rides real smooth and handles really well and the throttle modulation is not too soft like some other DBW throttles I have experienced and feels just about as close to a cable throttle as it can. It's a cool machine and the 50 HP single is smooth and the power is decent.

Not sure this is gonna lure Grizzly buyers over. Most seem to be lured by the v-twin because they want more power that Yamaha isnt giving them. The 650 twin was basically the same price as the Grizzly and was a no brainer switch. Too bad they cut it to make room for this IMO, as it was actually a good value. Now on value the 500/700 makes good sense, with entry level 4x4 starting at $7k usd. Thats priced where most buyers can see this as a reasonable purchase, considering 400cc and 500cc 4x4 quads in the 1990s ran in the $6k range. This 500/700 model lineup seems to me to be a direct response to what CF Moto has been doing and making sure they dont swallow up the entire entry level atv market.

I get why youre not a fan of the back rack, but randomly check youtube and start checking hiw many people mount coolers and gas cans. The lowered spot is exactly what we need if you use std gas cans. Thise things are a pain to get to stay down. I also think its 20 years late, but finally someone came up with a brilliant saw mount. Not a canam fan, but they did a lot right on this one. And Polaris and AC completely dropped the ball on accessories, where canam is killing it. Polaris/Ac take note, universal systems sell. Your one offs per model system sucks, especially when things are constanty discontinued. Polaris, thats you on the very pricey 850/1000 tourings. $17 and 19k and whats discontinued, passenger heat grips, rear small storage, top pod storage, rear boxes are rarely available and are brutally ugly and small and motorcycle grandpa looking, rear seat delete, etc. Basically you cant buy anything extra on a $20k after taxes ATV. My next machine just might be one of these.

HD7 is their "work" edition yet 99% of this video is sport riding. This is the problem with this line up. If you want the Visco 4-lok front diff you have to buy the HD work edition but that comes with the downfall of "work" tuned suspension. If you get the sport version of the bike then no 4-lok. Hopefully in following years they correct that.

Not a bad review but since it is a Pro Hunter, more focus on the utility side of it please. For that machine, I doubt anyone who buys it will spend much time in sport mode, probably live in work mode. How does it react when hauling? Adequate power when towing off-road uphill?
