This is the all new 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class W223 or V223 400d that turns out to be a mechanical spider, driving computer and a frog with really comfortable seats all in one. It was launched in 2020 during challenging coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic and seems to be a perfect automotive solution to various lockdowns in different countries. It’s your nightclub on wheels with newest MBUX system and almost no more buttons and switches. Touch, voice and gesture control everywhere.
Conclusions: has its flaws, perhaps more than before and even more than an outgoing model but it’s very impressive. Interior color combined with black exterior is awesome!
By the way, it broke 3 times during my 6 hours with it. 1: clicking noise for no reason, 2. driver's door handle got stuck multiple times after closing the car - I had to push it in, 3. parking sensors malfunction - yeah, they stopped working. The car had to be switched on and off and it was back to being OK.
Average: 1 malfunction per 2 hours.
I still like it.

I've owned 3 MBs in my life and still have one today - It will be my last. The brand has lost its soul. Also, these are only good for 3-4 year leases. You'd have to be out of your mind to own one outright.

Yeah, i feel in general 2020’s luxury isn’t about being premium but more about trying new ideas and the newest tech. It’s the opposite of 2010 or 2000’s. Even look at the newest smartphones, the material of the smartphone doesn’t seem to matter as much as it did in 2010s. I feel like this is a fad though in 10 or 20 years the tide would turn to luxury actually being better quality again.

Sorry it’s not plastic in the center console. Anything with a slick shiny surface will show finger prints. The shiny wood trimmed console in my previous model s class shows finger prints. Also the gear selector isn’t a tru plastic. It’s a composite resin amd with aluminum inserts. There’s actually very little “plastic” in any s class.

I hope it's more like an iPhone this one. I've got the first iPhone from 2007 and it still works really well. Of course I don't use it everyday and a browser is slow as hell but in terms of screen and controlling it, it's totally perfect. Incredible as it is, if quality is there, things really work. I'm totally stunned. Let's hope this S-class is the iPhone 1 of phones then. 3D screen is just as laggy as the first iPhone's internet browser actually.

I wouldn't worry about touch screens' durability. I haven't seen a car in which a screen would stop working due to age I think. Even cars from early 2000 tend to still have that working, so it should be fine I'd say.

The quattroporre actually have a similar design (despite was designed long time ago) but it’s more elegant and raffinate! This have a lot of tecnology but the design (and that huge piece of plastic in the centre of the tunnel) is not about what a S-class should be. I prefer the old S actually

Thanks for feedback. This is interesting as some claim that the latest generation would have one part of the visor sliding with that optional equipment pack. 2020 MY I believe. Perhaps your is a different model or from a different market (would be strange as sun covers the whole earth).

Touch button for turning the engine on and off? I'd call that madness. Perhaps there are some safety precautions like above 1 km/h it wouldn't work etc. In cars with normal buttons, they don't react if certain speed is reached - this I know for sure. However, if it differs in terms of speed or manufacturers, this I don't know. But it's interesting what you said and thanks for sharing!
