I'm so happy they finally offer this tool. I borrowed a friend's corded version and found out how useful this is. I like it so much that I was regretting buying into the ryobi one+ battery system before it was offered. Now I'm content I made the right decision.

Like it will be getting one good review, I have electric bandsaws heavy duty for use as a contractor and on a farm and for at least 20 years I’ve switched to Ryobi for the price and how well they hold up you cant beat them plus they design around the same 18 volt battery, you don’t have to buy a completely new tool when they change battery designs as with most the other brands out there. Good review just hope they come out with a portable table. Quick question-that rafter hook could you replace it with a chain and loop to hang it off the wall to use it instead of a portable table?

Getting one tomorrow to cut (Clean) in half a 3 x 4 inch block. To make it 1.5” x 4” block. Hope the block will fit in the mouth. The material isn’t wood, and I don’t have a shop to use miter saw or other reciprocating saw which is messy and can lead astray the length of the 4” block due to blade twisting in the far end from the tool (jig or reciprocating saw) if maybe using long jigsaw blade (which works but bows during cut leading to uneven block at the other end.) Anyway,I jjust know this will work. I’ll need to mount the band saw somehow to imitate a traditional upright version for smooth feeding of block.

Agreed with everything you just said john. I actually cut metal often and always end up with a crappy cut. This may not be something you use every day, but definitely comes in handy. As for the blade, I actually went up to the Deeps but didn't have any in this size o just used what came in the bix. Surprisingly, it worked really well and held up great with all the cuts that were made

HP battery likely won't matter because this DOES NOT have a brush-less motor. The One+ series brush-less tools (grinder, chain saw, impact wrench, etc.) are what take advantage of the HP tech. I have 'bought into' the Ryobi family of tools and they serve me wonderfully as a homeowner... pro use, can't speak to that.

I bought this bandsaw the week it was released. It is a good bandsaw but I have one issue with it. I noticed that after I cut EMT pipe or all thread a couple of times my blades starts to slip from the blade wheels, so I'm constantly loosening the tensioner to push the blade back in place. I don't do this when I notice it the blade will come off the wheels completely. It's a good tool but that's my only issue.

Everything cut in the video could as easily and quickly been cut with a reciprocating saw and some with an angle grinder. An 18 volt chop saw would get you nicely squared off cuts and handle larger diameter pipe. I get that a longer blade that doesn't need to reverse between strokes will need fewer changes and a single direction blade will always pull material into the tool guide, as do both chop saws and grinders, but you need more working room to access the material as would be the case with a chop saw where you generally bring material to the saw. I'm not seeing the need for this bandsaw tool compromise.
