I know a few, and i don't see much difference with the general public. But when your a known and often get people begging at some point it will be a turn off to help. This is brilliant giving it to a news organisation you can stay anonymous and let the organisation handle the letters and figure out who deserves it truly. Often when your known and you help someone financially other people feel entitled to the same and even can get mad if you refuse. No such risks here.
