Fair play Josh. Personally this is where, for me, the outside assistance is a grey area. It's impossible to cater for every eventuality and i think seeking outside assistance is not what you did. I ride self supported events and I couldn't ride past someone who needed help. But it's great to see you showing that integrity and good luck in the future

Once again Josh a great ride and video .The tubeless debate still goes on in my head, Im doing an all road trip through France and still cant decide whether weight /ride benefits will top the absolute phaffing nightmare when they go wrong.

You made it look so easy! Great to see a video going Hornsea first as I did. I was gutted for you at the fords, I was so lucky I'd scoped them out at Easter and knew to avoid Beck Hole at all costs! Good to see someone else on gravel too. Tough with the punctures needing help but you were riding for you and know what you did. Top effort. No sleep!!

Yeah I nearly came off badly on those fords. Very slippery. Had two 30 minute naps, one on the second night and the second on the third. Learnt lots for future events.

Well done Josh. Completed my first ultra-distance race last month in The Netherlands. An experience I won't forget! My friend took part in APN this year and one thing we both said, was how much we both learnt from these races. By the way that view of Bamburgh Castle was quite something. The addition of quotes around Shortcut made me chuckle. Great effort. =)

congratulations....good to see you doit for the ride if not the competition. In the end thats what its all about. biggest lesson seems to be about tyres and risky surfaces....and managing exhaustion/eating. not sure i'll ever go that far or be able to ride through the night so kudos for that.

Good form. I reckon ultra distance riders should do a list of "night visions"... when your brain is struggling to work out what you are really seeing. Well done on the assistance call. It's frustrating but hey, you should learn from it. I attempted a 1000km brevet at Easter and was happy with the gear I carried... I pulled the pin due to severe winds so didn't have any mechanicals. Can't do much about that one... I ride again and didn't get flattened under a truck.

Great video and great ride Josh well done. It looks like you had better weather anti-clockwise but I don’t think I could have managed those climbs in the lakes at the end rather than the beginning, good effort!!!
