Yes, now they have countless queen's so on a previous video we even divide the colony into 2. Then this colony on tubes is from colony B. Both producing well now.

I feed meal worms, crickets and roaches. I freeze them and pull them out as needed which makes them easier to handle and store.

Feeder insects without a doubt the best you can have buddy.

@@NetherWolfAlpha I guess if you can't get feeders you can try cooked egg, chicken etc. You can also buy cricket powder but it is usually expensive. If you are going to use insects you find around your house make sure they haven't been impacted by poisons and boil or freeze them to kill parasites before feeding to your ants.

Bro i got two camponotus irratnus queen and successful raised them but my brother who is 3 years old he killed many of them i managed to collect both queen and 4 workers but they don't start producing brood so i released them in wild😢😢😢😢😢.

The black Camponotus is most likely Camponotus siemsseni which is soil living species with absolutely gigantic supermajors bigger than the queen

this is interesting. i’ve got a similar ant colony of carpenter ants, it may just be because their still in a small setup. they should actually be just inside of a test tube but it all began inside of a iphone 11 box that grew mold. so i was just really glad that i could practically dump her into a new setup and she was actually able to begin laying after about a week or two with a tiny beaker like test tube inside that i totally diyed from some random covid kit i never used. she had 3 eggs in the beginning but she ate them after i moved her over. so when i seen her first new cocoon out in the open on top a stick i was so excited and so my journey began.. she still is in this setup now with about 5 workers and two or three cocoons otw. i recently added her already tiny enclosure inside of another container like a feeding tray that’s all but empty but it does have a larger test tube i got with water and it’s been about a week now since i put their enclosure into another one large enough for them to possibly even stay in once they get more population.. and yet they still chose the enclosure which has white mold and the small beaker like test tube..id really love some advice, it seem like they might even still be drinking from the water inside their old enclosure. i will maybe drop a honey bit inside the new test tube to see if they’ll decide but the smaller enclosure their housed up in has a small stick as i mentioned and a bit of soil dee enough to dig..is this a potential reason they favor it and should i take action into potentially forcing them after a while to avoid deaths i have no clue how i can make this new test tube homier for them. it’s larger than the average one which is maybe why they won’t live in it. they were staying in the small beaker like test tube inside of their home but they moved out after i kept checking to see if they were ok inside of the outbreak and now they live under the beaker tube and on top some soil so it’s really crazy

i’m trying not to lose her before i can name her. she randomly flew into my window after my dad mowed the lawn on a hot day and she was on me while i was trying to sleep. i felt a little bite and flung out of bed sweeping myself off to find her crawling on the ground afterwards. i had winter ants but they died and i think some may have escaped at my old place😅bc all a sudden there was so many winter ant workers inside nibbling on crumbs before i vacuumed. i’m stumped but there must be an action i can take after attempting the honey drop, so that they’ll move inside of the larger test tube that’s super wide. wider than the average test tube it’s clean and ready for them..maybe something to do with the wide entrance?

btw i don’t think they have taken any protein yet since the queen came to me after her nuptial flight. she dropped her wings but i tried offering canned crickets and they didn’t seem interested. i tried half of one and still no interest not even in a leg, i have a moth like creature in my freezer now it’s pretty tiny but i hope they will like it. they’ve been taking honey for certain because one worker is always lounging in the nest with some in his belly

@@YahKno most claustral ant species don't like to change their homes, especially if they're at the beginning stage, they feel safer in place they know (and yes, soil and stick that help them cover the entrance makes them feel even safer there) If you don't have access to a test tubes you can try making them small (one chamber) plaster/cement nest like in some of @D-colony videos Then carefully shake the ants out of their old tube or let them move out by covering new nest and exposing tube they're in to light (be careful not to overheat them) Development problems can be linked to too much stress we unintentionally cause while checking ant the ants, moving them and similar, or by bad conditions to star a colony. Sometimes it depends on queen, some are just weaker and die from natural causes. About feeding, try small crunched insects first
