I tell you what I've noticed, since the lockdowns there is literally nobody around anymore. It's almost like we learned to live in solitude & we don't want to come out anymore. It's freaky 😱😊
@richardhinchliffe1678 Жыл бұрын
Or maybe because Blackpool is a very expensive place to come for a day out never mind a week and people can’t afford don’t think covid nothing to do with it more like cost of living
@racheljohnson9687 Жыл бұрын
@richardhinchliffe1678 no its definitely been more noticeable since the lockdowns how fewer people that are out & about & it's like that all over not just in Blackpool before the lockdowns I could bump into loads of people out & about & now I can walk for ages before I see someone. Agreed the cost of living doesn't help

@ScottMcculloch-ot7gw Жыл бұрын
I am not surprised it is so quiet during the week. People can only afford to come for a few days now as accomodation prices are now at a comical price. It is about £100 a night minimum for a family room and it needs to be half that price really.
@G4RY1159 Жыл бұрын
Agree, People have been priced out visiting for a 7 day holiday now, the good old ''simple days'' are sadly gone, I don't think all the new developments will save the Town, they might give it a stay of execution for a few years but if people don't have the money the new developments are utterly pointless. Massive shame seeing how it's fell away, it's like a cancer spreading.

Probably, but you can come to Blackpool with hardly any money, as paddling is free, as is sand castle building. Meanwhile lots of folk have been involved in a military grade Psyops operation that was force fed on MSM channels, on behalf of the UN, WHO and the WEF. Some are scared stiff if they are close to folk, and will jump out of your way on the footpath and try and make themselves look thin. Sadly they could cope in Blackpool today as the streets are empty.

Your new intro includes a clip of the now derelict Carlton House hotel. I stayed there in 1998 with my ex wife who was pregnant with our first child. We lived in Chesterfield at the time and heard about the hotel from friends. The owner John was a former Derbyshire coalminer and bought the hotel after taking early retirement. He ran it with his wife. We stayed in August arriving on Monday and staying till Friday. I recall it cost us around £90, this included breakfast and evening meal! We had the front facing first floor bay window on the left side. The now derelict pub opposite was always lively. We were pretty skint at the time, but didn't need much money back then to have a good time. I now live in the USA so don't get to Blackpool as often but have some great memories of it. Thanks for doing what you do 👍.

Such a shame that considering Blackpool was the number one resort up north. But it's the same as any seaside resort around the country. Living in Kent our resorts are equally as bad. Margate is a famous resort but apart from the harbour area and the old town its quite rundown in the back streets. Much the same as Blackpool. Hopefully Blackpool will pull its self out of the rut and become the resort it used to be. But like any where it needs investment an lots of it. 🤔😐

Im surprised the nuns and vicars didnt chase you down the road after you callled it St Johns Church given its now called Blackpool Church hehehe. I jokingly said to Caroline that when she said The Mitre was the smallest in Blackppol, I think Shickers Micro Pub on Waterloo Rd at the roundabout next at Lytham Road, & Cask Micro Pub on Layton Road might have a claim to that title buddy hehehe. The "old PO building" at 2:37 is a striking piece of architecture and MUST be saved somehow. I hope it's protected. Edward Street looks to have real potential. It's good that someone (the Council?) is at least trying to gentrify parts of Blackpool. St. John's Square is attractive, too. It would be great if that quality could spread further. I think Blackpool is better when it's quiet like that.
