I remember Street Fighter IV launch night getting the game at a midnight release then going home and spending the entire night before work unlocking all the characters so me and my friends could have them all for the launch party we were having that night. I went to work with my eyes BURNING

When it comes to secret unlockables in the early days I think of Reptile, Shadow Lady, Gold War Machine and Gon

My first unlocked characters were in SNK vs. Capcom MOTM. I started noticing some of the rival battles were against oddball characters that were not on the select screen. One does wonder if they are playable. After beating story mode a certain number of times Yuri became available, Then Akuma who I had never seen played before. Mind Blown! Next were B.B.Hood, Akari, And Geese Howard. I was so Excited when I knew M. Bison would come next, who I had never played before. It was so rewarding to uncover them that way.

Yeah those were the arcade days and early fighting games on consoles had secrets as well. It was so hype to battle those hidden characters and unlock and play as them. Like you guys said there was no internet and hard for information to travel. I don't remember how my area figured out the hidden characters and what not. But I remember making manuals for street fighter and.mortal Kombat games and selling them to kids in my school and people who I played with at local movie rental store. And the manuals had everyone's moves and how to get all the secret shit (characters, stage fatalities in mk, etc). What a different time that was (yes I'm old). You would come across something new and exciting all the time over the games' lifespan. Now within 2 months of a character release, everything is found out lol. Both times have been good times with fighting games, but completely different. Sorry for the long overdrawn story

SF5 Does actually kinda have secret characters... In the main story mode, you eventually have to fight some of the dolls that were never added as DLC and there is no going back

Is there a way to play as them?

I can't really fully explain how blown away and excited my friends and I were when we discovered Akuma in SuperTurbo. Then when he was in X-Men COTA it was that excitement all over again. When we were watching the SF2 animated movie we caught a glimpse of him sitting down in a scene and all collectively lost our shit. Hell, I still have that EGM with the Sheng Long joke in it lol.

Juni and Juli are NOT Bison clones, they were kidnapped girls by Shadaloo along with all the other dolls, except Cammy and Decapre.

12:13 Decrape is similar to Juni.* Since Juni was Created/Designed way before Decrape.

I miss the random select would have hidden characters in them.
@Beaze172 жыл бұрын
I think I'm remembering this right. One of the first fighting games I really got into back in the day was X-Men Vs Street Fighter. And I just randomly found akuma scrolling around the character select screen lol. He's just chillin at the top. Just have to scroll up

The first iteration of SF4 started off with 16 characters, 17 if you count akuma (since he is a secret character). Sf4 on console release added 8 more characters to play as (this includes Seth). My first hidden playable character is probably shadow lady, shadow, red/ orange venom, and gold War machine in mvc1.

Zero 2 Alpha/Zero 2 Dash/Alpha 2 Gold is where you could play as Cammy (who uses her then new XvsSF spriteset). It's a separate release from Alpha 2 and its initial home ports.

They need to bring back Unlockable characters for Street Fighter VI, so it gives you something more to do.
@suryans58512 жыл бұрын
Haggar is a hidden playable character in Street Fighter Zero (Alpha 1 in Japan) along with Dan, Gouki (Akuma) & Vega (M. Bison). They pretty much just ripped the sprite from Final Fight and gave him motion inputs for his special moves. He's not in any of the international versions unfortunately.

I do not know if I consider Ken as a secret character for Street Fighter 1, because he is a player 2 character, kind of like Luigi being a player 2 character for Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 1, 3, and the Lost Levels, and Super Mario World, and if I'm missing any Mario games, you can tell me, and if you tell me I'm wrong, do not bring up the Game Boy versions, because I am quoting from NES and SNES versions. I wonder if anyone is talking about Akuma originally showing up as an unnamed character in Street Fighter 2, unless he came in Alpha before, but his name shows up as Akuma in later Street Fighter games. When my brother got Street Fighter 4 on PlayStation 3, it seems like those characters are already unlocked, but when I saw this video, the character select screen looks different than the version he got, and I probably should add that he got the North American version. What version of Street Fighter 4 does this video have?

if you are just talking to each other what looks like in the room then what is the point of wearing the headset? Are you really listening to each other through the headset? That's odd..

Guys guys guys! Am I the only Street Fighter fan to remember the Street Fighter Ex series? There were tons of secret characters in that series. I remember finding quite a few in SF EX 2. Maybe next time you guys could give a shout out to them.
@bennel35882 жыл бұрын
Check the developer of the Street Fighter series. When I looked them up on Wikipedia, I found out Capcom developed all of them, except for the EX series, because Arika developed them, but Capcom still published them. Capcom did developer Street Fighter The Movie game, and did publish it in Japan, but Acclaim Entertainment published the North American and European version, but still with Capcom developing them.
@jblue88hoodgamer542 жыл бұрын
Just to let people know is that Street Fighter EX doesn't really count because that game was mainly created by Arika an Arika created EX Fighting Layer.
@bennel35882 жыл бұрын
That's why Street Fighter EX gets ignored. I been wondering why they get left out.

hidden characters idea has gone when DLC concept comes in the picture.... yeah blame it there lol..

You disagree? What would you blame it on?
@franco81902 жыл бұрын
@@EventHubs first,when i commented what i said im not in the part of the vid when you said about the dlc stuffs, coz thats the first thing that come in to my mind why hidden charracters are not used(the idea) on new sf or in any other new fighting games now this days,.. second, we cant blame the company that uses dlc characters to maximize potential income coz thats how they work for right?.. so either ways im with you in the things you said in the vid👍🏻.
