Okay so I want to explain about Plastique's Kitsune look. Kitsune (meaning fox in Japanese) is usually a kind of Japanese Yō-kai, or traditional spirit. They are usually very mischievous, and are also quite powerful. They have the ability to take on a Human form, are usually quite attractive and their tails actually represent their age. They are very cool, another place you’ve possibly seen them represented is the Ninetales line from Pokemon.

For those of you non history buffs…Cleopatra made her famous rug reveal at her first meeting with Julius Caesar. She had been smuggled into the palace where he was staying because she had been banished by her brother Ptolemy. So Vanjie at least deserves recognition for historic accuracy.

Kitsune has always been the kinda "catch all" term to encompass how the whole Asian diaspora have their own fox spirit myths, because they're the ones most known via anime and other media. But every culture has different names and stories and powers for a fox spirit, which wasn't elaborated by Plastique during the show... but it would be too lengthy to get into it, during a quick runway description of a look.

Bussy, please. The whole "Sexy Anime Wolf Person" thing was... well, not cool. While Kitsune are Japanese Yokai specifically, Fox Spirits in general are found in many asian cultures and mythologies. Plastique even explained it in the episode you supposedly watched. Seeing something mildly asian and instantly tossing out "anime" (paired with uncredited art) is a really bad look. We are having so many powerful asian queens coming out and representing their respective cultures and pride this year, and you literally boil it down to "Sexy Anime"? It's seriously just a matter of opinion. I will say if Mik's did a nurse look it wouldn't make any sense, he is the one getting top surgery not the doctor, but again its just a matter of your opinion and its ok to just like Angie's look more! I love Angie, and I think she’s naturally funny, but her Snatch Game-for me-was good not great. Mik and Nina actually made me laugh out loud multiple times, whereas Angie just made me smile. Mik and Nina were fully fleshed out characters that were unmistakeable in their portrayal, but if you hadn’t told me who Angie was supposed to be, I never would’ve guessed.

Honestly with the Cleopatra reference and Roxxy's runway, I can see how you can sometimes just miss a reference here and there. But when it comes to the kitsune, saying 'from my understanding' and following it up with clear proof that you didn't even google what a kitsune is and just looked up some pretty pictures to flash on screen, is really not good enough.

Okay, so when Julius Caesar entered Alexandria with his army to basically mediate between Cleopatra and her brother/husband(yes the siblings were made to marry as children) who was trying to have her exiled or killed so he could have full control over Egypt. Cleopatra was reported to be absent with a small legion of loyal soldiers. long story short, she snuck into Alexandria at night, moving through secret corridors inside the walls, she got inside the palace, but needed a way to get to Caesar without alerting anyone. So she wrapped herself in a fine persian rug and had one of her servants deliver the rug as a gift to Julius Caesar's guest quarters. He unrolled it, was struck by her beauty...ahem...and he put the moves on her.

For me, Gottmik winning was correct. She created a character with a point of view for snatch game, the look was on point, and runway was next level personal and well executed. Angeria did her “southern church lady” shtick that (respectfully) she uses quite often. At this point, I’m Gottmik for the win. 🏆🏆🏆

Yeah I don't think the original character had enough depth to make her a continuous thing. I thought that would be a good thing because roxxy could take that and turn her into anything she wanted and have a lot of material to work with. But she didn't. Just the loving salads and a heavy lisp and that's it.

I feel like a lot of what Roxxxy does in drag is a bit one note, like she's built a box for herself out of 'You can't read the doll' and other older quips. Honestly, she was STUNNING. She's just such an exquisite professional. Sure, some of her drag might not be up to modern standards, but her concepts and the ATTITUDE and the work she puts in, she's just a gem. Never really bad at anything, and always fierce. I'm really glad to see her again, and I feel like she definitely has more of a presence and personality than Bebe.

I am loving this season and I hope they continue the "nobody goes home" format for all-stars going forward. All these queens have proved they have a right to their time on that stage - they don't need the sword of damocles dangling over their heads to bring us their best. If anything, this format allows for the kind of big swings that might be impossible in an elimination format. I want to see them take risks and push the boundries of their art - sure sometimes a risk doesn't pay off, but that's how the artform grows.

Jorgeous has come a long way since her season which wasn't that long ago. That being said, the level of artistry from Gottmik and Plastique is off the chart. . While Shannel was good as Liberace, she also could have done Debbie Reynolds, Kenny Kerr, Kenny Sasha, Charles Peirce, Jimmy James, Jim Baily as they are all entertainers we should never forget. Angie, Roxy, Nina, and Miss Vanjie are great in their element. After Nymphia's win, I really hope that doesn't take aways Plastique's ability to win. The best charities for me are Trevor Project (nina) and SPCA (Vangie). Great Season, no one is doing bad, glad there are no eliminations. Hope WOW and Mamma RU are taking the Wicked Movie premiere later this fall and incorporating a tie in because I totally expect to see a Galinda and Elphaba on the runway. I grew up watching the match game with my mom so my heart agrees with that sentiment but I don’t think most of the queens doing out of the box characters even know what the match game is lol. Ru is old plus drag already has ties to celebrity impersonation so she made this challenge parodying the retro game show. However, she also loves cooky zany styles of drag so she couldn’t say no when queens started doing made up characters then it just kinda snowballed from there with more queens doing it cuz the precedent was already set…like I wouldn’t say it’s a “cop out” cuz they prolly don’t know the source material and ru doesn’t seem to mind but it does lose the original essence for me for sure

I think Nina's lip sync outfit is a throwback to a performance she did for Wurk the world. She did a Disney mix, where every few seconds she would switch and tear away into another very basic princess dress. (It wasn't groundbreaking live. And this is by far any improvement on it😂)

I loved Nina's kooky lip sync, I wish she would have had the reveals be a little more smooth, and maybe it would have swung in her favor. I live for her over the top camp! That's the drag I grew up with, absolutely obsessed. I've been so disappointed in Drag Race fans in how they've been talking about Nina. There is a reason she's on this season, and she's an amazing queen. I've seen so many horrid comments talking about her, and her lip sync, and how her looks have been, and how she should just go home and be ashamed, etc etc etc. I hope she is taking care of her mental health, bc if I was in her position I would spiral into a deep depression. I love Nina, I hope she really takes off in the competition bc she absolutely deserves it. Fashion and lip syncing are two very superficial parts of drag, and I need fans to get over themselves thinking they can discredit queens so flippantly.

Roxxy was not just Jessica Rabbit!! She was a combination of Roger AND Jessica Rabbit!!! That's why she had some of the details she did!! Like with white wig, the bow tie, and those suspender buttons!! Also to add: Tale and Tail can be interchanged for the brief. So as long as there was a STORY shown in the runway, that counts too.

I actually didn't enjoy Angeria's performance as much. She played a Southern church lady... which is basically what she always does. It was very safe for me because it lacks creativity. Also, I felt Nina, altough funny, was interrupting a lot and was always on screen, which felt a little rude even. Mik was by far the best

I'm a huge Mik fan already but another thing I appreciated is that she gave something different. A lot of people critiqued her on S13 for constantly serving blonde bimbo in the acting challenges but she went outside of her comfort zone by presenting super prim, proper, and matronly here.
