Because this video I have created a new bookshelf on Goodreads. I’m making an effort to re-read/listen to one of my favorite Childrens book each month. There are so many books that impacted my life as a child and the future me. Thank you for the reminder of how our inner child is ready for a story!

I feel like we’ve all been in a reading slump this march and are just getting back into it now. I’ve really struggled to find a book that I could keep reading for more than 2 pages until I decided to reread Pride and Prejudice two days ago :)

I love that you've been returning to old much loved books! I have a tendency to force myself to always read new books and authors (this might be an existentialist thing), which means I don't think I've ever re-read a book... This was a nice reminder to slow down and think about returning to the books that have had a meaningful impact in the past 🥰

I also cannot seem to get along with the dark academia genre. I follow all the other book tubers in your book club and they also seem to have issues with the DA book choices. Perhaps your book club should consider changing its focus to another genre. Just a thought.🤔 I will still continue to follow though. I love Because of Winn-Dixie; its a great read. I'm from Florida and I have a connection with the grocery store too!

The Little Prince is also my favourite book. Love it and re read it all the time. Actually it was never meant for children. In the book the author itself says in the beginning that "he asks for forgiveness from children because this book is dedicated to adults". I don't know why people has made it a children's book when is not, in fact only when you are an adult you can understand the real meaning of the story.

I bought my nephews and niece Charlotte's Web and might get them the audio book, because they are still a little too young to read chapter books themselves. I want to get them the other two EB White books.

Great video, thank you for sharing your recent reads. I love the movie adaptation of Hugo Cabret and now I'm intrigued to read the book! It looks like the illustrations are stunning. I also really liked your recommendation of E.B White's essays, I am going to look out for them. Right now I am reading Kiki's Delivery Service book and I keep thinking this is the children's book I'd like to have written.

I read a few books by E.B. White years ago, and there is one short story that stuck with me, but unfortunately I don’t know the title, or the collection it was in. A young man is asked what he really wants. He thinks about it, then thinks more about it, and concludes that he would most want to be on a tropical island with a sweetheart looking at him adoringly. So how did he get so far from that, manning a tail gun in a bomber over a battlefield? If you come across that story, please let me know.

The Little Prince is also one of my nostalgic favorite childhood book! Recently I’ve been reading « Turning point » where Hayao Miyazaki (my favorite director) talks about his inspiration for his movies, and there are whole parts dedicated to Saint Exupery! I’ve decided to pick up Wind, Sand and Stars thanks to him ! In French the book is called Terre des hommes which can have a lot of different meanings, I find it so beautiful and can’t wait to start ! ❤️ Thank you for this beautiful video and sharing with us your passion for all these books ❤️

Hey Carolyn, sorry, my question is very random, but have you heard that Netflix will soon release a movie Heartstopper based on the Alice Oseman’s graphic novel? I remember you reading it 1-2 years ago so maybe you’ll be interested in watching an adaptation💗

Been reading/listening to Anna Karenina (five translations in total) and The Rainbow by DH Lawrence on audiobook/Guttenberg very emotional and nuanced EDIT: The Problem of the Puer Aeternus by Marie-Louise von Franz goes over the life of the author and his symbolism in The Little Prince with great detail

Reading slumps suck! A way to get over them is definitely to read shorter novels like the penguin black classics they’re amazing to have easier and lighter reads, also just creating a more calm ambience when reading harder books help me

My reading slump hit a couple of months ago, when I was 3 fourths of the way through "Meet Mr Mulliner" by the great P G Wodehouse. Thankfully, I'm now ready to get back to Mr M and his relatives and the wonderfully ridiculous situations that they find themselves in. I'm also looking forward to a return visit to the 100 Acre Wood, and the chance to spend some time getting reaquainted with Pooh Bear and all of his, and my, old friends. Then it's on to "Carry On, Jeeves," and more laughs from Plum. And I hope that you can, one day, live in E B White's house, Carolyn Marie.

Carolynn, lovely video as always, but do you by chance watch Seth Meyers? Because he has young kids and was reading Stuart Little to them, and I won't spoil the story, but what he did and the way he tells it is SO FUNNY. You have to watch it. And the joke keeps going, it's like an ongoing joke now, on this feature that he has called "corrections". So the first time he mentions it is on "CORRECTIONS: Week of Monday, February 28" (just search for that on yt and it will appear), at about 14min40secs. And then he shows this awesome actual letter E.B. White wrote to a child fan in the 50's on "CORRECTIONS: Week of Monday, March 7" at about 12min40secs. You should watch it, it's really sweet. And I immediately thought of you.

Try not to think of the 'gaps' as Reading Slumps ... I believe it's a time for the mind/brain to explore other avenues of Expression--viz., Art, Music, Gardening, etc... And then, a chance for yourself to recalibrate, circle around, and latch-on, again, to eating the marrow of books!
