You can 2x diamonds using an Enrichment Chamber, and what Ben was looking for is called Compressed Carbon, not Compressed Coal, and it's done with the Enrichment Chamber also.

And using Compressed Carbon you can have a 1:4 coal:iron ratio for steel, which is much better than the 3:1 for Tinkers or the 2:1 for uncompressed Mek coal.

Also that if he has an item in his inventory, he doesn't have to search for it in JEI to find uses/recipes for it. He might have to check the keybinds but R and U are safe bets.

Sjin, you guys really need a Sandwich Station from Culinary Construct. You can make sandwiches from all edible foods and it's a lot more efficient than carrying around various foods as it stacks nutrients and combines hunger/saturation effects etc. Also Farmers from Actually Additions work well with Agricraft Cropsticks.

Ben you need to make Compressed Carbon using any coal in Enrichment Chamber. You can (and should) do that with redstone and diamond dust too.

The reason your system is so slow is that you've set your oxygen in the electrolytic separator to dump ben!

He's dumping both Hydrogen, AND oxygen. The hydrogen needs to be dumped for the system to work but the oxygen should be stockpiled.@@spicy_penguin22

Power system: Tree Farm (ender io farming station) , wood into cellulose (chemical decomposer) , hydrogen (electrolytic seprator) , turn cellulose into biomass , combine biomass and hydrogen into Ethanol , then use ethanol as a fuel fo gas burning generators , each generator make about 10k rf a tick . compact mechenes are super good mod. they have built in chunk loader as well. could make a super small one just for steel with out the use of the tinker smelter.

my favorite power system when a pack has mekanism is melon power. make a simple little melon farm, turn that into biomass, then (forget the machine name) combine it with hydrogen(?)(could be oxygen) to get ethylene then burn that in gas burning generator. when you get a nice backlog of power and melons it provides alot of power. and I typically just use a windmill or two to power the machines for the ethylene production.

Sjin! PLEASE stop building buildings outside of the series on your own! It's is an important creative part of it! But now you build all the stuff for it offshore and leave the series with machine overkill! I mean go through Yogscast Minecraft classics, including yours, what do you remember? A LOT of it is buildings and their making! The factories, Oil Town, Santa, the crab,,,,, the list is practically endless. Taking this completely out of a creative Minecraft series is a REALLY bad idea. Recent Duncan series, despite being questbook based, have a HELL of a lot more buildy creavity in it! And even feel more relaxed and fun because of it. And doing it in creative is fine. No need even to pretend. But keep it in the series! It's a important creative break from compressors, compactors, cables and whatever. The original Let's builds weren't really about that. They were isolated bigger projects. Which might be more interesting on occasion.

Ben the best way to sort the coal sitch out would be to craft coal into a block of coal and then put it through the smelter the ration is about the same 3 coal pieces : 1 ingot but you can smelt a lot more quicker

SparkyPurple44 the best way would be to put coal in the enrichment chamber to make compressed carbon. This is worth 8 coal pieces in the metallurgic infuser. This way you will need only 1 coal for 4 steel
