To celebrate the opening both the Royal Enfield CEO, B.Govindarajan and the Anuj Dua the Head of Business for the APAC region attended the grand opening and we took the opportunity to ask them both a couple of questions. we spoke about the new 450cc Royal Enfield Himalayan, the massive hit that the Interceptor has been as well as Royal Enfield's plans for the future.

Works both ways, first off his job is to run a business. Second people who only have experience with one company and one product stultify product and market development, if he had a previous experience owning and riding the competition he would be more capable but if I appointed a CEO I couldn't care less about him riding, I don't expect the CEO of Airbus to be able to fly a commercial airliner.

I will live and die by the Classic 500. Hands down one of the most beautiful and most iconic bikes of this generation. Sad many people slept on it.

Regarding the pronunciation of the Himalayan - it's quite simple, it's named after the Himalayas and pronounced accordingly, hence the aa sound in both words - Himaalayan, and the Himaalayas

I have been looking into a Suzuki 650 v-strom and during that i discovered the RE450 and really digging the look. Any help is appreciated, what should i consider before making a decision on which one??? please help :D

Sorry can’t comment on the V-Strom, haven’t ridden one as Suzuki in Australia don’t reply to emails, but I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t a decent bike judging by it’s popularity. The Himalayan 450 is excellent, we’ve just done a review if you’d like to check that out, it’s a bike I’d happily buy.

@@firstjayjay think of the range, different amounts of fuel in each one. V Strom is more asfalt oriented, Himalayan is more off road oriented. Still very nice both machines

@@firstjayjay Hi, I have owned a Suzuki Vstrom 650 for nearly 4 years and have done 47,000 kms. It is comfortable, very smooth, long range "road" bike. It is okay on smooth dirt roads but not really rough ones. It is a bit top heavy and can be difficult to move about on uneven ground. I love it. Hope this is of some help.
