There is a small vegan business not too far from where I live. It is not a food store, but they do have some junk food items. They primarily sell clothing, handbags, jewelry, socks, and other accessories. Also, books and stuffed toys, and some pet items. They have limited hours and are open only four days a week. However, they have been open for years, and do well overall.

Feel the same way. I found an all vegan cafe in little five points in Atlanta and despite living halfway across the country I keep wanting to go back to support them. Plus their caramel pecan crust chocolate pie blew my freaking mind.

If you're in the UK, there's an online Vegan Supermarket called "TheVeganKind" which, whilst not environmentally friendly because it is deliveries only, is a great place for vegan products. I can vouch for them. Their lifestyle subscription boxes are incredible.

Me too I grew up helping my parents run a small general store.

I use to dream about opening my own general store. Since turning vegan of course now it went from general store to vegan store. Unfortunately a lot of vegan stores have gone out of business. Even for a big city like L.A, Organix in Eagle Rock relies a lot in their kitchen to bring customers.They make great food but the prices and selection you can get most places. Perhaps marketing as a health food store is better but without meat and dairy. Also it's hard to compete with prices from the chains or online. With the exception of certain cities have a few good ones that's because they import a lot of things you can't get elsewhere.

that girl in okc Have you tried Thrive Market online? They have an *amazing* selection of vegan foods and household items. I wish chain grocery stores would start putting all of the vegan foods in a section by themselves. I understand the logic of putting vegan foods by their non-vegan alternatives, but it makes shopping take so much longer for us vegans and isn’t convenient like they may think it is. I spend at least an hour in the grocery store because I have to read the label of every single item I purchase to _try_ to make sure it’s vegan. Also, not all vegan foods have a vegan label, as I’m sure you know all too well.

those vegan eggs from 'be leaf' are INSANE! i've been eating them for a few months now since i found them at veganessentials. just sprinkle on a little kala namak (black salt) after you heat them for egg yolk taste. the 'be leaf' bacon is amazing too! i sprinkle on a little regular salt to bring out the flavor of the bacon even more. vegan butter on some toast and i am in comfort food heaven 😍 😍 😍

This is awesome! I have been hearing about it for a while, and was planning on visiting during a weekend trip to Buffalo in early February. Unfortunately, while I did make it to Buffalo, I slipped on black ice the first night I was there, and spent the rest of the weekend in the hospital with a broken ankle :( I will definitely visit next time I am out there!!!

Alpha foods brand has the best tasting products. We love them! So many new must try products there, wow! The Easter chocolates look so good. Sjaak’s chocolate peanut butter are so high quality. I’d be going there everyday if I live near 😋 If you know anyone from Earth Balance, please ask them to bring back their boxed Mac n cheese. It’s been years and my son still asks for it 😢

I wish the vegan grocery store in my area was closer to me as there are dozens if not a hundred closer grocery stores to me. Plus since going whole foods plant based I try to spend more time in the produce section which it doesn't even have. But at least I have a local produce store which is Vegan by default.

Roksanda Kosmajac I don’t know about that. At least for me, consuming coconut oil puts my LDL through the roof. Only got it down to a normal level after ditching the coconut oil. 90% saturated fat is high.
