I enjoyed hearing your comments, thoughts, and perspective in your interview with Andrew Tischler. I would love to see you occasionally narrate a video of your painting or even just share how you painted when you first started and how you learned to progress to another level. Thank you for sharing!

I'm gonna need some bigger brushes 🤣 That was the most inspiring 3 minutes of my life. You have just dragged me out of a horrible slump and shown me my path. Portraits! I'm excited to get painting; thank you x Oo, would you mind telling me what large brushes you are using please?
@dunawayfineart3 жыл бұрын

why does your paint flow so well?
@dunawayfineart3 жыл бұрын
I am using professional quality paint, It has a perfect consistency of oil to pigment . The brands I use are Rembrandt oils, Michael Harding, and Old Holland
@FAKEtrailers23 жыл бұрын
@@dunawayfineart thanks for the reply! Wow they are nice and flowy. Straight out of the tube? I'm in Australia and use Langridge, some paints are quite stiff due to how much pigment is in them.
@dunawayfineart3 жыл бұрын
@@FAKEtrailers2 yes straight out of the tube. If your paint is too dry , my favorite medium to make them more buttery is Gamblin brand walnut oil

@@dunawayfineart No worries. Thank you! I'll check your site for the October workshop. Do you have plans to do any in-person seminars in the US in the future?
@dunawayfineart3 жыл бұрын
@@maxrenderer2011 the Oct one filled fast so I took it off my website , but I added one in a January . I do have plans to teach a couple in the US next year in the fall ( Sept 2022 ) and I will post them on my website soon

Great job but why would you put a heavy black under white?
@dunawayfineart3 жыл бұрын
Hi Byron , so I don't have black on my palette, the mixture that appears black is ultramarine blue and transparent Oxide red, when you wipe it away or the white grazes against it it picks up striations of color notes which I think are very beautiful , especially when seeing a painting in person . It creates interesting edge colorations

You're work is absolutely phenomenal. Its crazy to me how someone who has mastered traditional photorealistic painting like this has so little exposure on these youtube videos you have uploaded. As a professional digital character artist I have a huge respect for the level skill you have to do this. Id like to encourage you to do more of this social media posting especially videos (real time and instructional as well). I think it would be super beneficial for you and especially the art community. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
