I'm not a counselor, but I do have GAD in a severe form. I actually appreciate this in depth explanation from this perspective. Thank you.

I appreciate your work and dedication. I hear no one mention an identity crisis and how that doubt lacks purpose. For example, on Halloween you are playing a character. You have an established identity. If the star quarterback gets picked last in dodgeball, its funny. However, someone without an established identity will be hurt. There's no books or videos on what is normal because what's normal for the spider is chaos for the fly. There's construction workers who live on cigarettes, coffee, and alcohol and have zero anxiety. There's accountants with a loving family and bagged lunch who kill themselves. So the approach of..what are you NOT doing is flawed. It's an identity crisis. No one is happier than stupid people. Ignorance is bliss. They can play a character. Is that not all it is?

Could GAD actually be CPTSD? Ptsd is usually from one life event. GAD seems like it could be CPTSD. I know CPTSD isn't recognized in the dsm. I ve been diagnosed once with bpd and six years after that diagnoses they diagnosed me with bipolar. I am in fight or flight and live in freeze I just isolate completely but even though I stay by myself I am still in fight or flight
