People forget how magical this season was for Jake Delhomme. Came off the bench to replace Peete in like his 15th season. ULL grad who wasn't given a fair shake after impressive performances in NO. Led his team to a super bowl and rivaled Brady the GOAT himself through the entire game. Pats only won by a field goal and had a lot of people thinking they were overrated at the time.

So the sudden over the top,excessive flags is bs but we know the reason why which is related to the lawsuits and realizing through betting which still wasnt legal yet,on top of the ways the flags control/dictate the game,its easier to excert control over the game/players. Remember when defenders jump to swat ball and accidentally contact the qb helment resulted in roughing the passer ? Prime example.

Defenses figured out Holcombs tendencies and the season was a wrap.Then in 04 we get Garcia and Winslow while the steelers draft Big Ben. That set the franchise back about 10 or 15 years. Thanks Butch Davis.

Being from Chicago I remember vividly people thinking this was a bad move. I thought he deserved a chance but injuries and inconsistency seemed to work in Bill Cowher's favor as he had been highly criticized for not giving Kordell unabated keys to the offense. This season for Kordell proved why. Really did like him as one of my fav QBs before this season though.
