Oh my goodness- I have never watched Mary Berry before, as I’m in Australia but this has given me all the feels for Christmas next year. I think her recipes will be my go-to from now on.

In South Africa it's too hot at Christmas time, so I do gammon with salads, smoked salmon for starters and, of course, trifle. I really enjoy watching these programmes and living vicariously. I would love to have a traditional Christmas in a cold country

For the past decade I no longer cook a trad Christmas dinner, it's now curries with chutney's, paratha, basmati, etc. etc. the next year a different menu...although I do make a sage and onion stuffing on request...lol.

I live in New Zealand, so I echo that sentiment. I'd love a snowy Christmas at least once

My mom born in the 30’s always had beef which is what I grew up with. Beef, lamb, pork and rarely fowl were served in my mother’s home. Availability has changed since then. Be well.

Before turkeys were heavily promoted in the UK, goose was a traditional Christmas food. Other top dishes steeped in tradition are gammon or beef roast. Being Norwegian, my mum would cook pork roast for Christmas, and a medium size turkey for New Year's Eve. Love from Oslo❤😊

@ninaelsbethgustavsen2131 2 ай бұрын
Thanksgiving is most likely uniquely American. I think the closest you get in Europe is the "Oktoberfest" in Germany. Though that is more about beer and "Weißwurst" mit "Sauerkraut" und "Senf". "Weißwurst" being a greasy pork sausage. "Sauerkraut" being finely chopped fermented cabbage. And "Senf" being (strong) mustard.... Love from Norway ❤😊

Don't you dear call Angela Hartnett "riff raff" !!!! She's a brilliant chef. A former Gordon Ramsay's favourite student. She was picked to run one of his best restaurants. The guy I don't know, but Monica worked with an other of Gordon's protegés Marcus Waering ! They're all stellar class chefs !!!!!

Brussel sprouts are SOOOOO much better if you just saute them. Especially with chopped up bacon and toss in some crumbled blue cheese just before you serve them. Boiling them is a waste of time and fills the house with that awful smell. Saute them and there's no chance of having watery sprouts.
