Planning for the future with MS in mind cannot be easy. I commend this couple for their understanding of that reality, while continuing to fall in love with beauty and the things that pull at the heartstrings. Enjoy life!

Phew! I was so afraid that Jo and Pete would choose the maisonnette. I have a progressive muscle disease myself, and that staircase looked too narrow for a wheelchair lift. MS is an unpredictable disease, so it might not have been a long-term home. In other circumstances, it would have been a wonderful choice, the winner being that private garden. Phew again that they didn't lose their flat just for 5000 pounds. I adore Phil, but he did that recently when a couple who had looked at 70 (70!) properties finally found one they loved, but he advised against buying it because he felt it was overpriced by, you guessed it, 5000 pounds. My feeling was that that couple had finally found something they loved, so what did it matter in the long run that the place was a little bit overpriced. In the end, I'm so happy they found a home they love. Totally unrelated, I loved Jo's fashion sense.

In these small U.K. homes it would be helpful to remove all those interior doors, not every room needs to have a door and buy smaller scale furniture.

The lady has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis... but doesn't mind a very long stairway indeed! I'm a bit baffled. But why was she brought to this obviously totally unsuitable house in the first place, may I ask? Case of mental illness?
@maida_vale Жыл бұрын
You may ask, but why can't you do it in a nicer way, I wonder... I found your last remark extremely rude. MS doesn't mean you have to end up in a wheelchair. Not these days. Treatment has improved enormously over the past 25 years. Also it's not the same for everyone. Some (few) might end up in a wheelchair quickly, others never will. If you are interested, do a bit of research yourself, please. Snarky remarks are not helping anyone here. This "mental illness" remark I find completely unacceptable.
@jeanforest8060 Жыл бұрын
@@maida_vale And I totally agree with you! But that's the way I am and have been for the past 81 years... Old habits die hard don't they... And besides, I'm part of REALITY, so... why try and play hide and seek with it ... huh?
@janiceellis8765 Жыл бұрын
I see exactly what you were saying. And I took your Mental health statement more as kind of a joke and directed towards the agent not at the couple or at the person who had just been diagnosed with M.S. . I do have to wonder if Jo's diagnosis is so new that maybe 18 months hasn't been long enough for her to come to terms with how she's feeling when they were looking at these houses was just a little too optimistic and possibly not wanting to go look at all of the possibilities, either way, that might crop up later, but knowing my own physical disabilities when they haven't given me the time to have gotten myself out of buying a house with a flight of stairs for me to be able to work around being able to get up and down any stairs without being a negative part of my life at this time. I'm just saying that anything is possible, good or bad as far as becoming or not, what a debilitating disease may throw at any of us one day. I don't need anyone to take this opportunity to take any jabs at me or Jo or anyone at all. Please and thank you too. Blessings to us all.

@@janiceellis8765 This is by far NOT the first time future owners are being shown totally unsuitable homes... Just to keep us baffled at the wealth ordinary folks enjoy in Britain these days...😅
