This reminds me of that story where this three group of friends were kayaking through this crocodile-infested river in Africa, they were going through some extreme sports thing then one of their friends got taken into the water by a crocodile. Never to be seen again. Apparently the locals were even afraid to go boating for food through the rivers because many of their fishermen were taken by crocs while in their boat.

As someone who used to go to school by rowing wooden boat when I was a 13-17. I can tell you that alligator is a territorial creature. Big one usual by itself while smaller one always in a group. In this video it attacked because it feels threatened and you're near its territory. A good tip when you're close to an alligator when boating or kayaking in a swamp is to make sure you row slowly, make sure your rowing doesn't generate huge waves and never turn your boat/kayak towards or against the alligator. I'm no expert and never was but this is what I used to do when I accidentally get to close to an alligator or a group of them back then. When I was young, my country is poorly developed . Incase anyone wondering why I boat to school. Pardon me for my poor English.
