On this episode of Breaking Trail, Coyote takes you up close for a special look at the American Alligator vs the American Crocodile!
While often confused for one another, Alligators and Crocodiles are actually very different reptiles…not only in their physical appearances but also in a variety of other ways including their diets, habitat and mannerisms.
So to further explore these differences Coyote is once again teaming up wildlife biologist Mario Aldecoa near his research facility in South Florida...which luckily offers one of the only ecosystems in the world that is home to both crocodilians.
Now, there is one slight challenge to this video…Mario and Coyote actually have to FIND and CATCH an Alligator and a Crocodile!
Get ready for one seriously toothy adventure!
Breaking Trail leaves the map behind and follows adventurer and animal expert Coyote Peterson and his crew as they encounter a variety of wildlife in the most amazing environments on the planet!
The Brave Wilderness Channel is your one stop connection to a wild world of adventure and amazing up close animal encounters!
Follow along with adventurer and animal expert Coyote Peterson and his crew as they lead you on three exciting expedition series - Emmy Award Winning Breaking Trail, Dragon Tails and Coyote’s Backyard - featuring everything from Grizzly Bears and Crocodiles to Rattlesnakes and Tarantulas…each episode offers an opportunity to learn something new.

Nope. Crocs skulls get thicken as they grow older. The best way to identify them is looking at their teeth. Crocs upper and lower teeth are visible they're interlock while Gators had an overbite which means their upper jaw is larger than their lower jaw so only upper teeth are visible for Gator

They have alligators everywhere so I can tell what they look like and I saw crocodiles a few times at zoos and stuff. Also, I’ve heard a lot about how the V shape snout is crocodiles while the U shaped snout is alligators. 🐊 Also, why was the Crocodile so calm the whole time? Like, he wasn’t even holding his snout at all, so why? 5:48 will show you what I mean.
