Tbch I don't care about CGI quality in films too much, but X-Men: Apocalypse is a fundamentally poorly-done movie. It has it's moments but overall it's kinda disappointing (might be a bit biased bc Apocalypse is one of my favorite villains in the comics and the way they did him is just god-awful, they got his personality and basic power-set right, but everything else not so much. I'm willing to give his actor props for his performance though, but Magneto and Quicksilver really carried that movie)

I’m sorry but I have to bitch about Storm. She’s got wind powers, not only in the comics, but in several movies. And she just sat there ready to let a car flying through the air crush her. I’m not saying she needs to make a wind shield, which she does in the comics and cartoon, if she can’t make one in the movie due to movie nerfing. But she can at the very least use the wind to push things forward or to the side in the movies. Those abilities have been established in the movies. So why would she just sit there and wait for a car hurtling through the air to crush her instead of attempting to defend herself? It makes no sense. In the comics, there was a scene where young Angel protects Kitty from something physical coming at her, during training. Kitty lectured him saying that out of everyone on the field, she is the last one that needed his protection, and that he should’ve known that. She was teaching him that in a fight, their resources are limited, and he has to be smart and learn how to fight efficiently as a team. This is one of those moments for Storm in the movie. Storm would not need Psylocke’s help in this scenario because she has the ability to protect herself from a car flying high up in the air about to hit her. My point is, I don’t like how the people in charge of the movies handle the fight scenes and their powers. I am all for balancing powers in movies so they’re not super powerful like their comic counterparts. But Storm being able to blow away a flying car to another direction is something she should be able to do even in her weaker movie form. My point with my long ass comment is that I hope that when the MCU takes over, they do things right. I hope they truly pay attention to each character, especially important ones like Storm. Don’t get me started on all the issues I had with Storm, Rogue, Psylocke, Emma, Selene, etc. in these movies. The only female character they did right was X23.
