Intel ending support for Cryo Cooling technology after 14th Gen released was really strange. Happy to at least see EK bring it back. But might also mean we won't need such extreme measures anymore next generation. I made a comment about 6.5Ghz daily driver a while back and now it's finally possible.

No need to doubt, I can confirm it was indeed a chip preselected by the ASUS team for the 9.1 GHz Helium attempt. This was the "worst" out of three. Like I say at the beginning of the video, I had the opportunity to try it and so I just played around with it using the Cryo Cooling technology. Figured maybe others would also like to see the results I got, so made a quick video with the settings and some benchmarks :).

I have seen in wendels video that alder lake to raptor Lake has higher IPC than ryzen 7000 clock for clock so Intel is losing somewhere else, like cache, not ipc
@nuke99186 ай бұрын
Literally raptor cove has the highest IPC of X86 architectures. In single core speeds there is no contest on what is the fastest chip
@elmariachi51336 ай бұрын
@@nuke9918So why is it slower than current Ryzens in games and many other tasks? Don't say cache .. because cache alone does not make a CPU work fast, it just enables working faster because of lower waiting times- which enable processing more commands in a given time again xD
@nuke99186 ай бұрын
@@elmariachi5133 X3D is faster in SOME games due to cache. More instructions can be feed faster to the cores. Less clock cycles wasted doing nothing waiting for data to come from RAM. Latency matters a lot in some games. In others not so much. infact properly tuned Intel processors can match or exceed X3D chips in games with some BIOS work with ram and ring bus OC.
@elmariachi51336 ай бұрын
@@nuke9918 What you said is what I think: 'More instructions can be feed faster to the cores.' So.. isn't this equivalent to higher IPC? Yes, latency is another fact, but like you I don't think it's too relevant..

intel is a joke 14900ks slower vs 7800x3d in gaming by alot tdp 240 watt vs 50 watt..
@branchprediction99236 ай бұрын
Well, it's important to be honest and fair, ur saying the 14900ks (13900ksss) is slower "by alot" is just wrong. I think on average the 7800x3d is indeed faster but only by a few percentage points, in other words on average theyre identical. Now for powerdraw, dont compare cpu stock tdps for power comparision, thats not how it works and it makes u appear ignorant about this topic. But ur right, the 13900ksss uses like 2 to 2.5 times the power in gaming compared to the 7800x3d xD. Now, were all tuners here right? At max oc the 14900ks is faster than a 7800x3d max "oc". Not by a lot but it is.
@Solrac-Siul6 ай бұрын
@@branchprediction9923well there is a couple of things to keep in mind, the 7800x3d cannot really overclock much as there is a trade off in having 3d cache. Interestingly enough AMD may be able to take advantage in the future of intels back power delivery, as delivering power from the bottom would reduce the oc constaints of having vertical stacked 3d cache, so we may end up having in the not so distant future 3d cached chips that can oc decently. That said to throw an honest bone to intel, the comparison of the 7800x3d and the k variants of intel chips is not really "fair". Fully unlocked cpus are always going to consume more power. Even the AMD equivalents to intel K type of cpus consume considerable more power than the 7800x3d, as that is just a reality of having unlocked multipliers. And pushing higher mhzs implies an exponentially higher amount of power usage. to go from 5ghz to 5.5 a 7800x3d would need a tdp of around 180 watts,(what means an almost 50%increase) then another 20 watts to reach 5.6,.another 30 to get to 5.7 and at that point the tdp of the 7800x3d would be above 230 watts (the 7950x needs that )so around the same ball park as the 14900K.
@iLegionaire37556 ай бұрын
Everything besides gaming the advantage goes to the 14900KS and the 14900K, and gaming performance for Raptor Lake is directly equivalent to Ryzen 7000, hardly noticeable for the average consumer spending equivalent money on either AMD or Intel.
@Goorood6 ай бұрын
not true, 7800X3D at 5.4 GHz is literally equal to 13900K @ 6.2 paired with DDR5-8000 in games on average. 14900KS @ 6.5 will beat it. It is the fastest gaming CPU money can buy right. Is few % in gaming worth it ? Of course not, but still it is the fastest CPU
