Just discovered your series. Love the golden Pyramid. Made me think of Ra's ship from Stargate. Pro tip: Create blueprints of all of your ships/grids/bases/accessory modules and update them with every major change. That way post-battle repairs are less stressful, mid-battle automatic repairs can replace destroyed components, and you get to restore everything to a known state without guesswork. Projecting the blueprint during a battle is what allows the ship to replace completely destroyed blocks in range of welders. The projector block is obviously best placed near the core of your ship, like near your Gravity Generator. Here's a theoretical self-repairing welder/gun setup you might want to try out for that regenerating ship idea. Let's go full Borg on this one! Legend: T=Armored T Conveyer C=Armored Conveyer W=Welder > and V are the welder torch G=Gun conveyer input H=Head of gun B=Base of gun A=Armor -=Connection points This version abuses a wide-base turret to protect the squishy welder beneath. With an active projector, the deeper welder can repair/replace the surface welder. And the surface welder can repair/replace the gun. And the Gun takes hits for everything. W > A B T-C-W-G-H A-A V B Or if the gun is tall like a rocket turret: W > A T- C-G-H A-A-A I've also seen some designers put a Cargo container and sorter under their guns so the gun can keep firing for a while, even if the conveyer network gets severed. You can always use more gryos. They're really easy to hide, like on the ceiling of any of your levels. Why not have the ship turn faster than a beached turtle?

Also for the record, SG-1 was my inspiration for the ship. Glad to see more than a couple people have made the connection.

@@fngaming420 Very nice. Do you have plans to build a cage out like an SG1 Goa'uld mothership? I suppose it'd be more faithful to the early square pyramid concept based on the movie as opposed to the triangular pyramid that the show went with. But connecting up the conveyers could be a challenge. Some fans have posted blueprints for a functional F-302 in the shop. Another small QoL suggestion: If you haven't already, it might be worth rigging up a sorter and connecter on the rear of your mining ship to automatically eject stone for maximum ore yields per trip. You might need more than one to keep up with the collection rate. And a toggle control in the cockpit console is never a bad idea incase you wanted to collect stone for whatever reason.

When building your borg ship it might be handy to create a small "tile" of your wall, make a blueprint of that and then tesselate it using a projector and essentially let the thing build itself using the inbuilt welders. Once you've built one wall you could make a larger blueprint then rotate that blueprint by 90 degrees and "merge" it one block deep into the existing wall to ensure the welders reach the corners.

The original plan was to build it into an asteroid, but a lunar locale sounds nicer. Don’t even need to land the pyramid since ion thrusters work fine there

offset your guns not directly above the welder but a conveyer on the sides of the welders feeding the conveyers and it will auto repair

Whilst watching the pyramid flying through space I started wondering. How possible would it be to make the apex bridge of the pyramid capable of disconnecting using merge blocks and being its own ship?

Oh, that's ambitious. Judging by their current design, that'd probably take a major rework. It'd be a lot easier if that was a design goal from the start.

It would be cool but yeah, it would take a pretty major refit to pull off. I've toyed with the idea a couple times of building a small block ship that was basically a shuttle that could merge block with various types of modules, becoming a cockpit for a larger craft. Might work on that finally when get to the Borg Cube run. For the pyramid the current plan is to add some wheels to it so we can land on Earthlike and hopefully drive off into the sunset. (iFOD)
