Could you do a video on fertilizer. I've heard with pon you need to add extra like cal mag. Silica. I use foliage pro. I have extremely hard well water so I use a zero water filter that's why I add in the cal mag and silica with foliage pro k to give back the extra minerals that I'm missing with my foliage pro in that water but would love to see a video on you and your mom talking about fertilizing with alocasia

Thank You So Much For Getting This Video Up So Quick For Us. I Watched Your Moms Advice With The Bambino. Quick Question - She Says To Leave The Reservoir Dry. Does She Mean For Ever Or Only Until The Bambino Gets More Mature?! Another Awesome Video Btw - Thanks To You Both!!

Hi there. My mature bambino is doing extremely well with about a half inch of water in her reservoir now so yes, once mature try a bit of water and see how she does. I get a bit of edema but nothing serious for the most part.
@otaku.plants4 ай бұрын
@jaxsonn4 I leave mine dry until the pon itself dries out or until the edema subsides. She leaves the reservoir dry and never fills it. She will pour water through her pot once a week give or take. Did that answer the question? You're so welcome. I am glad the advice was helpful. 🥰

Hi there. Good question. Yes, I typically give them a few weeks then I remove the plant from Pon and take out all the rotting roots and then I repot. Most of the time if there are a lot of rotting roots I actually just use fresh pon as I find it easier than rooting through the old pon trying to search out all the rotting bits. 😂

@dragonfruit969 personal advice, do the type of planting you're comfortable with. We both use pon alone for mature plants. We only use the stratum and pon for corms and baby plants. You're going to have more sucess doing what you're comfortable and more familiar with.

I just got an maharani albo last week and i put it in pon. I have noticed that the roots are a little bit brownish.. is this normal? The water isn’t touching the roots. It’s right below the roots. I’m scared it’s going to die😢 the leaf seems to be doing fine though
@otaku.plants3 ай бұрын
@thaniacisneros5785 I don't like brown roots. But it could be killing off the old roots to make space for new ones. Keep checking on the stem. If it gets less stiff, then it's probably not doing well. Maybe give it a day to dry up a little. Then refill the basin. It's hard to day really. If the leaf looks okay, I'd say, give it time. But I also don't want to give you incorrect information.
