I'm going to keep watching you, I feel you. My family's toxic, or I feel the are. I'm on disability because of my heart, gave up my trucking business of 33 years. Thought my life was over. Now I'm raising cattle and I bought a van and do some travel. Never been this happy, so love my time alone. Great channel

I am in a similar situation. I've been living vanlife full-time over 3 years. Just this year at 50 years old, i came top the realization that i needed to separate myself from my immediate family for my mental health...it's the best thing I've done for myself.... I no longer feel the stress of trying to bond with toxic people , my mother even told me she didn't care if she ever saw me again, and the past three years i had spent all my savings taking care of her and my older sisters were doing hardly anything..... I love watching your channel and how you are able to be so level headed when crap hits the fan 💖 you have a lady in a van with two dogs down in the lower 48 that would gladly be there for you when you make it down 😊 hugs!!!

Hi Natasha, I'm new to your channel, and I have been binge watching your videos, and have finally caught up now, and I always look forward to a new video from you, and I can relate to what you have gone through in the past, and are still going through. I live on a narrow boat, and I have 4 cats 1 another boater dumped and I adopted him, and they love living on the boat thankfully. I'm termed a continuous cruiser because I don't have a permanent mooring, cause liveaboard moorings are hard to find, and very expensive, so I keep moving, but I don't have to do locks because I have chronic health issues, and so have had adjustments made by the Canal and River Trust so I can stay on what's called the long pound and not have to do locks. My brother is spending Christmas with me which will be nice, we don't have much family left, so it's just him and me, but that's ok. I think the idea of a cabin sounds like a brilliant idea, and would give you the peace and quiet, and more time to work on your writing and finishing your books, and I'm sure your cats would love it to. I really admire your guts and determination, and your have a go attitude, wish I was more like you. And you won't be on your own for Christmas, cause you have your beautiful cats to keep you company, I know it's not the same as being with a human ( sometimes it's actually better) 😉 But I hope you have pleasant and peaceful Christmas. And I look forward to your next vlog. 🐱🎄😊

I understand what you're saying, I have more serenity and happiness being alone and with mother nature and my pet(s) than being with people trying to rule me, bully me, boss me, put me down, etc. Glad I only have 2-3 months left here with a bully who wants me to oxide by his whim or threaten to kick me out "Tomorrow " each time he rages. I'm glad you are ot of that situation with your family. It will take you some time but you will be alot happier within a few more years. Keep going and love where you are.

It would have been so cool if you would come to Quartzite...I'm going there this January for my first out on the road excursion in my car. I'm going there and Palm springs first... I got a free 2 day 3 nights stay at an RV park they said I could 'tent camp' but of course, I'll just end up in my car...the girl who booked it basically said it's fine as long as I look like I'm tent camping...yay Palm springs KOA! LOL... planning on leaving Phoenix on Jan 12th with my 2 kitties! 😻😻

Hey there, I have been meaning to follow your series but so much going on... the struggle is real out here, between paying the rent, taking care of my health and energy, training for health coaching, new jobs, trying to keep up with the mind-boggling parade of news, politricks, misc. &c ... I appreciate the positive and real message that can help people avoid unrealistic expectations. The holidays are known for that. I think it's pretty much baked into the whole construct of the western, commercialized hollow-day fleecin'... Traditions which I have not observed for 30 years now -- I quit Xmas when I was a kid. (Maybe I'll explain that later) The socially imposed expectations of joy, merriment, togetherness and unbridled consumerism are compounded by the natural depression that many feel during the darkest days of the year. Speaking of which, St John's Wort is excellent for SAD... ginkgo biloba also helps, as can adaptogenic herbs and mushrooms. These herbs are lifesavers, sometimes literally. Also, just getting out, getting as much Direct sunlight as possible on sunny days. I've also found that just s little walking through snow, has pretty much the same effect as SJW. Which I find myself doing a lot of these days (along with biking and hitching up to the bus) since my car went to heaven! Although there are various factors, I think a lot of what gets called depression is basically a lack of things like exercise and sunlight. We down here in NE IL are entering what's supposed to be the first snowstorm of the winter so I'll get plenty of exercise in the coming days. By the way, are these videos current or from last year? I'll have more to say later...

If you ever want to be apart of something, so many organizations need volunteers. There are lots of private dog companies that need dog walkers or even animal shelters if you only like cats. Can help clean cages or pet the cats. Often they have a volunteer Christmas dinner. Salvation Army has a dinner in many towns. If you partner with them they even have things all over the world. Just pop in and offer to help. Even volunteer at thrift store. Even if not religious. They are usually very accommodating .

If you can afford to, just do a reset. Doesn't have to be the entire winter maybe a few days or a week. Reset, restore and reflect. You've overcome so many challenges in the recent past it may be time to process all your adventures in the warmth & safety, of a stick & bricks. Just my observation. Enjoy your vids. For me Christmas was fun and I did the whole thing for my kids when they were little. Now I don't feel like I need to keep up with society and do it. There is no gift giving and demand to do all this shopping and baking just because. I had a quiet day with my oldest son. I made lasagna and ambrosia. There was no decorations and we were both just fine with that. Works for me.
