Natasha Hynes, from Montreal, Canada, bought a Dodge Sprinter van in 2021 with the dream of waking up in the mountains of the West Coast. After downsizing her life to move out of a toxic living situation and into a van with her 3 cats, Natasha crossed the country overcoming many obstacles along the way.
Over the following four months she would cross the country two more times, once on her way to document a historic moment in Canada, and another after being abandoned without a vehicle by her then co-traveler on the wrong side of the county.
While facing many life-threatening scenarios along the way, she made her way back to her van on the west-coast. Her vlog, Quest Out West, chronicles the good and bad of van life, travel, and life struggles without the glamorous bias you see on social media, with the ultimate goal of inspiring you to face your fears, transcend limitations, and go after the life you really want.

I'm recovering from a serious spinal surgery and none of my local 'friends' even checked in with me. Nothing. Not even a text. I'm realizing, even now, that I need to reconsider those who I've called friends. 😢

This is my 3rd Christmas alone completely. After cutting out my now ex BFF and that toxic guy I've told you about before the last 2 yrs I decided to go somewhere special but this year I am just going to be at home due to financial issues. I plan on giving myself a gift (maybe more than one if I can afford it), nice meal and watch my favorite Christmas movies. My mom no longer celebrates it so unless I get an invite from this one friend of mine (older lady, nice lady) my Christmas will be that. I've accepted that I may be single the rest of my life because I am not and WILL not allow myself to be disrespected or used by anyone. I loved this video, your the only other person I have come across who I feel thinks kinda like me (except for the woo woo lol) and I enjoy these talks! I wish you lived closer so we could meet in person but at least your doing videos again! 😊

I used to think I wanted to be single, because it was emotionally easier for me. But now I realize the pain I felt in relationship was always related to the Unhealed wounds (screaming to be seen and released, of course). Loved ur talk and the blurby from ur book 🫶👍💗‼️

I've been alone for a couple of years now, since my husband left me in 2021. The holidays are hard, but I have my pets, and my work. We are surrounded by this impossible idea of happiness, and what a holiday should look like, as seen on social media, TV, etc. None of that is real, and no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. Don't fall for that b.s, and don't feel like you're not loved just because you're alone. Everything is an illusion, believe me.

And YES! The last part of this is on point w/my experience with my family life...emotional neglect...from both parents...dad left at 13 and mom being a toxic religious, brainwashed person who only cares about that!

Hi Natasha, I'm single to, and I don't really mind it, but what I do mind and think about all the time is all the years of my life I wasted with the wrong man, and because of him I ended up losing my house. And I've just lost a friend. She really upset me and its not the first time she's done it, so I blocked her number, and WhatsApp, and I feel quite relieved now. Love the video, and I'm glad you won't be on your own this Christmas. 🎄🐱🎄🐱🎄🐱⛄ I recently lost my father, and it will be the first Christmas without him, which is very sad 😢😢

I feel you... After cutting out my best friend and having to walk away from a toxic man it's a very lonely road and I'm still struggling with it I just hate the feeling of being alone... I know somehow I'm supposed to get over it and be okay with it but I just don't know how I can't really change how I feel about especially as I am approaching 50 years old I'm afraid of just sending up dying alone... At this point the only thing I'm hoping for is that I don't end up homeless.

You are a strong brave lady I am 62 and everything i have been through has made me who I am today The heartaches pain joy and lessons learnt I wouldnt change I have 3 amazing grown up kids 3 grand children and another on the way I lost my mum to alzeimers earlier this year we had grown close and built a friendship and a bond I realised that I had let go of the past I miss her and love her I can't say i had the best of childhood, so at 19 I married I wanted a family of my own and wanted to belong It was turbulent and i felt isolated I lived abroad for 14 years Coming back to the Uk with 3 kids was a relief but so scary too It was a struggle I had health problems and operations and my kids took time to adapt to a different way of life But we made it! You are still young and you are healing You are doing so well and you have so much more life to live You deserve so much happiness and kindness and love and to be surrounded by people who value you ❤ you've got this girl And yes learning to love your self really is the greatest love of all Best wishes for this Christmas and a brand new year awaits you ❤

I am without my common law wife and daughter. This will be my 4th Christmas without them and I hate it. I miss them almost every second. I actually like and enjoy being with a female other. Prefer it. I love sharing time and experiences with a partner. Just turned 65 Nov. 26th. Hey Natasha, I didn't know you were Italian. Those grey eyes. I guessed you or imagined you as French and Native American or maybe Scottish and Native American. I'm half Italian on my mothers side. Father's side is mostly Scottish and Irish with some French and either Norwegian or German. My brother did a genealogical search on our family and we are descendants of the French Generale Lafeyette who came to Pennsylvania to train US troops against the British during the revolution. He lived in Scotland for awhile and had a mistress who had children. My father came from that. Natasha you make me wish I were 20 years younger. (Yeah, right, Pat thinks he'd have a chance with you.) You are probably too nice, but I wish you would consider making it your " content" to review and comment on other you tubers. Primarily van life, nomadic, travel, etc. You would be funny, critical but true, especially remarks on the absolute BS content, thumb nails, ridiculous expressions for click bait. You would never run out of material! Lol

Lol kinda like blind views ( you tuber) but way meaner, don't hold back like he does, besides you have a much larger vocabulary, more witty, more common sense, I mean use that sharp insightful creative insulting but true voice! Tell it like it is, you have the credibility for sure, you have lived in a cold ass van with two cats for God sake! Maybe it would help future you tubers understand what makes a good you tuber, and what makes a crappy one. Because there are good ones, interesting, know their market, have intriguing personalities ( like you do actually) . It's practically a public service you'd be doing Natasha! Lol
