Business class in Economy?
Is the new Emirates Premium Economy really that good? Well today I’m going to try it out inflight - for the first time on KZbin. The most challenging part for this was actually to ensure I could get on the right plane. In fact there is only one Emirates A380 which has the new premium economy installed and only route which this is operated on.
Thankfully it runs on the London - Dubai route, and being based out of the UK it's ideal.

Tbh, I would personally give up the fancier food etc. for a lower price. The only problem with current economy cabins (for me) is the seat comfort. This product seems to be a great balance of comfort yet still getting enough people in to make it affordable.

I wouldn't say that you only get about 5 inches of extra legroom your feet are locked in and you're still locked in when you're next to other people

The seat isn't nearly as nice as buisness either so your just paying for a slightly bigger seat than economy, nicer looking seat and smaller more private cabin.

I agree. I’m vegan and my stomach doesn’t work meaning most of what I eat doesn’t stay down, so fancy food is wasted on me. However I am disabled and find economy seats uncomfortable. I would pay more for a business class seat without the food and drink, just a comfy bed for me to not cry in pain. Wish it was an option.

Thank you for this video. With your videos you let thousands of people who can't fly right now fly with you. I hope that the situation "calmed down" slightly in the summer and that more or less travel will be possible again. Protective measures such as wearing a mask, keeping your distance, disinfecting your hands, etc. are not a problem. All the best and stay safe.

For me, it will depend on the number of hours on air, the price difference between Economy and Premium Economy and if i can get a bulk head seat or at worst an aisle seat. Non bulk head middle seats on center row or window seats tend to be cramped. I would fly the Premium Economy of Emirates if the price points are of strategic good value or if my flight miles can accommodate depending on the number of hours. Great video! Premium Economy REALLY does remind me of the business class setup many airlines had in the 80s and 90s in the seat design, etc. I'd like to fly on it!

Apparently their idea of economy and what I've flown on are two completely different things. At least I get my seat choice 95 percent of the time with passengers that don't end up on a viral video. You definitely deserve way more subscribers as I consider your reviews the gold standard of honest unbiased reviews and they're entertaining for people with no intentions of flying.

This literally happened to another KZbin reviewer, Sanspotter. He was in a Air France flight on their premium economy. The person literally reclined almost as immediately as the flight reached cruising altitude and reclined throughout the flight. The KZbinr would struggle to eat, go out and go into his seat.

Nice review. It's the same seat as BA, but with a nicer finish. Certainly looks good as a premium economy product and hopefully it will be reasonably priced when things get up and running properly again

Yes that is a camera on the IFE screen, but they are permanently disabled. A lot of newer IFE systems have this built in to 'future proof' the units, but not one airline has chosen to use the hardware as of yet. They're on more aircraft than you realise (you can just notice it more on EK because of the white screen border instead of it being black like on most).

We managed to get Premium as a seat selection along with extra leg room on the way back from DXB in April. It cost £127 each which wasn’t much more than the extra leg room options. It was a really nice comfy flight. The food and drinks were exactly the same as economy but it was still so much nicer and a lot quieter.

Another Great Honest Review I was looking for !!!. I was waiting when Emirates would launch Premium economy and finally it has arrived It would be perfect to travel long distance . And for the webcam its to video call other seats so if you are sitting in 10 A you can call James Asquith at 14F i guesss ...... since they had the similar screen on other planes in economy!

On lighter loads I would stay with normal economy. Because having 1 or 2 seats next to you empty just makes it amazing. But on a full flight I would do anything to get the premium economy seat

Just for a heads up you can get an upgrades from economy to business class (London to Dubai )for around £400 Which is a bargain considering it cost roughly 2k for an upgrade from economy.

I feel that premium economy on Emirates is an interesting experience for those who want some extra legroom. I think now the current price for premium is $8,000 per passenger while economy is 5,000. The food looks good though compared to economy. Thanks for the review, very insightful.

Check to compare BA's sister American Airlines's premium economy to BA's premium on long haul. I've heard that AA's is a cut above right now.

@@kayenicholson2225 We're now flying out of Houston tomorrow because I moved last summer and Houston is closer to us, so BA is who we're traveling on because it's non-stop vs. American where we would have to fly up to Dallas first. Not a big deal, just want a non-stop. Hoping there will be some upgrades available to Club World and not be horribly expensive. Flying club World home but couldn't get a good price going out so just hoping for an upgrade.

Thank you for showing us the seat recline. I’d be horrified if one came back onto my seat after paying for premium. I expect less stress flying. Wish they kept some static knowing it upsets some people. It makes me feel panicked when my space is taken in front.

i love how the a380 business has a 1 2 1 config because you don't have to step over your neighbor when they are fully reclined however the b777 has a 2 3 2 config and it would be awkward or the person at the window and the person in the middle :(

moral of the story: always read the small print. so annoyed - few months back I thought i had booked economy premium (£47/$100 approx) - feeling excited taking a separate lift to the top deck, greeted by immaculately dressed and insta perfect looking emirates air hostesses who politely gestured me to my seat ..... yes you guessed it.... no, my eyes did not deceive me .....it was a seat i'm very well acquainted with, the good old economy seat...I was crying inside! and still am. Sat next to loud mouth Sandra who took some strong non stop talking pills (breathed once the whole flight ok maybe in-between drinks) and bob who kept snoring we took off and he dozed off! oh and their little toddler who was doing toddler things (yes you guessed correct again!). Headphone time :(

I would love to fly this product, however there are two reasons why I don't see this happening anytime soon. First it's not gonna be available where I fly, second the KLM business class at times is available for what's just in the middle of the cheapest Emirates economy fare and the cheapest Economy business class fare and I guess that's gonna be the pricing of this product. Then I'd rather go KLM business class.

Hard product looks great but on an empty flight I'd probably rather have an economy row to myself, especially if service is the same. Would go premium if they offer better food, bar access (doubtful), bedding, or lounge access though

Didn't Singapore Airlines have the 'spycam' in the screen a few years ago? Correct me if I'm wrong. I would try this product if I could get a window seat. We usually try to book Business Class if we can get a deal seated together and this Business Class would work for us. Having avoided Emirates for ever and the A380 being our favourite ride on its way out, we may have to bite the bullet. Where was the champagne? Is this another Emirates' cost cutting exercise?

GREAT review!!! I’m impressed. I really like the interior with the lacquered wood accents and the light neutral color scheme. It reminds me of nice sea craft. I *always* fly premium economy if it's an option, I've got spine and ankle damage so I need the reclining and the leg room or I'll be in pain for the whole flight.

I love premium economy, and for me its the class that makes the most sense. I can't really sleep on planes, even in lie flat business class. While i appreciate the better food and service i don't really care about it, its still airplane food, its still just mixed drinks and champagne, its not worth the additional thousands compared to economy. Premium economy though is great, more space, on demand drinks with economy food. If you're not able to sleep anyway its the perfect compromise.
