Just watched the opening episode last night. I always try to ask myself "what would i have done different", or take note of things that work well for them. If there is anything i have learned from watching previous seasons, its that you just never know. I definitely never criticize them in any way. I think its very important to humble yourself before you go, before nature does it for you. I've yet to see a contestants with your skill set however in my opinion. I've seen alot of folks with great survival skills and knowledge who did not succeed. I think its clear that it takes a wide skill set: survival, crafts, psychological, fortitude, courage. Definitely a lot to learn from you though. Cheers! Hope you're doing well.

Thank you Jordan! I saw season 8 and I learned a little more each season. I am curious about innovation vs rules that is very unclear as contestants wrestle with the need for food. I see a lack of knowledge about nutrition and appreciation for proteins sometimes. . I still see a lack of ingenuity for keeping feet warm. Not sure why that is. Fire seems to be treated the same in most cases. Water is fetched rather than some gathering method devised. If I was alone I’m sure I’d find it just as hard as others. I did not like seeing people get hurt. But that’s always a risk.

I really enjoyed watching you on alone. What a gift to have that moose cross your piece of the pie. Your had to have had a baby heart attack right after making that shot. Then to realizing you would not have to leave because of hunger what a relief you must have had. If only you had been selected for the big price show last season I think you would have cost alone another mill. I have written into Alone twice now. First time last year or for this coming season, and again about two weeks ago. Is there any way to pick your brain on how to show my skill set, in a manner you think they would want to cast me? I know by now the people that are getting casted are outstanding in someway or the other. That said I believe I am more of a even inly sliced pie then most. Meaning I believe I am well balanced in what it will take but do not have one thing that will set me apart. Please let me know if you would look over my emails and help me maybe word them differently or of course you could also just tell me to forget it I do not have what they want. Thank you for your time! I think Clay has this year but the women they are selecting are always wild cards man they have had some great earthy women on this show!

Great point about the backwoods hunters having a leg up. Hoping for a change still ,but I think us guys in their 50's are considered by ITV as a liability after the injuries with Tim and season 4 so not expecting anything. Although in July I'm climbing an 8000 foot mountain, and doing another expedition in September so 56 has not slowed me down! Thanks again! You and Dave McIntyre are my favorites! @@hobojordo I have spent a lot of time around Matt in the woods up in the pine Barrens, as well as in California, and now he's been in the islands for a few years, so he knows about constant wet weather, and plenty of cold as well. Looking at what he brought, and knowing the skills he teaches and is just good at, I will be shocked if he doesn't thrive up there, because while he doesn't brag about how good he is, and makes choices others think are stupid, he took the things that will make it easy for him, the High Speed survival equipment, and with his skills, they make perfect sense. With him, try looking for the reason why he does things, as if he knows what he's doing, even if it's not how you would do it ;) For instance, making cordage, cooking and water storage are among the hardest and most time intense primitive activities, and he just solved all of them, meaning he can concentrate on finding food and making long term shelter.

Your point about a fair edit: one of the square-jawed, muscled-up participants has already been shown missing a clear archery shot at a partridge sitting in a tree for a good while and then not doing well at early fishing efforts. Could be misdirection?? Along similar lines, (I believe) Michelle is being shown with illness issues in the intro pieces to each episode. If my ID is correct, she is my pick for a relatively early tap-out. My concern with Theresa is her very deep foraging skills don't appear matched with big-game hunting skills or with fishing ability.

Tim is going to get laughed at by his oil rig buddies. My guess is the end game will be between Nate the veteran and Clay the hunter. My money is on Clay to take it down. Good to see that Elon Musk starlink allows you to upload more videos on a regular basis. I saw you put up the entire series of Happy people. that's a great watch!

It is, isn't it? If you watch the short version see if you can find the long version...it should be 4 parts each season takes an hour... Berber herzog did a shortened English version where you miss alot
