After 1 year it got a lot better! Just bought one and many things are just better now. The setup can be made automatically in one click, all apps goes into the right category by default, we have new color themes for the Mix Create, a separate knob function, and probably missing more since I just have it for 2 days. this is a year old, but if anyone (like me) has a need for outputting multiple audio channels simultaneously, this is a perfect addition to my setup! with this mixer I can not only go from outputting audio in realtime to 2 channels to 4! effectively I can use my main headphones (plugged into my dac), my speaker (plugged into my motherboard), my wireless headphones (plugged in via aux on the goxlr) AND output via line out to a streaming pc, all while being able to have all of it playing in sync, controlled by my stream deck (to an extent). additionally it allows for any goxlr/mini user to utilize a fader for each of the 8 channels available with the goxlr software, WITHOUT having to buy a second goxlr product OR deal with latency over a second device AND gain a second routing table!!

Not trying to throw shade at alpha gaming, just giving my own opinion here. So, I feel for how I handle things NOW, I would hate running devices such as these for working on my Audio. I love the educational process, I love the researching process, I love the mixing process, I love my devices hooked into my Tascam model 12 Audio mixer and my Audio mixer connected to my MOTU M2 Audio interface, and my Audio interface into my PC. I love these things, where the average user just trying to stream doesn’t.

I accept your invitation to engagement and say "yeah, that's a great suggestion about unlocking faders when listening to the audience mix, but there should be a toggle in the settings for it". Still not convinced about your explanation regarding monitoring the mic in the headphones or creating side tone. But then again, seeing this thing in action I'm afraid it's going to be a banger.
@dakrisis2 жыл бұрын
@@AndyTolly123 The BEACN Mic is a dynamic USB microphone, but it has an analog 3.5mm output. If the software allows you to send a monitoring signal directly out and you can combine this signal (without going through the computer) with the signal coming from your computer, then it's possible. The conversion from analog to digital and vice versa is the true cause of most monitoring lag. Many USB microphones have a 3.5mm output which is primarily there to provide a direct signal out for monitoring. You could use a passive mixer to combine this analog signal with the output of your PC.

I actually have a PC Panel, so i dont think im going to get this but it does look promising. The one problem i see with this device is the ability to control Fullscreen Apps like a Game. The PC Panel can do this and makes it super easy to control whatever game you're on without having to add it to the mix everytime you play a new game. Also i really like that the PC Panel controls volume through windows instead of controlling the volume through its own software, less room for failure really.

The one thing I want to see is either hotkey or stream deck integration, so I can click one button and mute or change volumes of multiple channels at once. For example, a button that mutes my mic and voice chat at the same time, or a button to fade music out then mute after a few seconds. I still use Voicemeeter alongside Wave Link just for the ability to create custom hotkeys like this. Other than that, this software seems perfect to me.

What are the advantages of the create over elgato Wavelink to you? I use Wavelink, and while it has its quirks, seems pretty extensive.
@soapcter2 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisWithACam They’re basically very similar in a lot of ways. Beacn software has a routing table, 2 output devices and a physical controller . Wave Link can use the streamdeck. I feel having a physical controller is important, but also having hotkeys or buttons to do multi-actions is also an important feature. Beacn’s biggest selling point right now though is the Mic which is probably the best for streaming now.

Thank you so much for this video! Definitely helps a lot to see all of these details explained in depth and the added functionality that BEACN SW has is really pushing me to upgrade. I want to see a StreamDeck integration. Sure I could probably figure out some way with hot keys or whatever, but a button that can set an audio source to a set value (which means a macro can set them all to set values at once) would be super helpful to “reset” my audio. Or a way to maybe fade out audio when ending stream, or fade out and back in to emphasize focus (instead of simply going in chucks (-5, -5, -5…+5, +5, +5) it would ramp smoothly on its own). It might seem repetitive to have a volume change button on the stream deck, but a +/- volume button would be cool since the knobs don’t offer the most accurate leveling. A stream deck set of buttons could be “Mute to Chat” “Mute to All” “Mute to …” and on each source. This would probably be only for the BEACN Mix Create, but it would still be really cool to see.

Just set this up to run on my main gaming PC, but wanted to use the mic on a work laptop as well. Did the 2 PC setup described, but left my audience mic output alone. I just copied the voice chat to the line out on the routing table and added a hardware channel to control laptop volume separately. Super seamless so far
@dav3evans2 жыл бұрын
The switching between outputs is such a nice feature. Closest I'm aware of is the Wave device + a Streamdeck. They have some toggles in there so you can switch that way but that's another £150 you have to spend just for that though. Really like that routing table though. The ability to just send one of your outputs through your mic/voice so others can hear it is great. Haven't managed to work out how to do that on a Wave device yet, other than sending your stream mix through Discord. Even without Mac support *yet - is on the roadmap*, this feels like a great purchase.
@ZMIRAx2 жыл бұрын
You can do it with Stream Deck alone. It's called Toggle Audio Device under Audio Devices in the Stream Deck menu. Might be a plugin. Can't remember if it's something I installed or not.
@dav3evans2 жыл бұрын
@@ZMIRAx Looks like there was a plugin but also a built in which I'm assuming came later. Noticing for me though that if I change the audio input via a Streamdeck though, it stops me adjusting the volume on my keyboard or headset, very odd! Might reinstall and see if that fixes it.

I agree that the only time I'm going to check the audience mix is when I think that there is an issue with it. And locking/unlocking would be a good idea IMO, you could even control JUST the audience fader if you turn the dial while listening to the audience mix. I also think that it would be good to have a "hold" mode where it switches back to the normal mix when you release if you long press. This means you could hold to check it, and use the dial to adjust an audience volume while its held then when you release it would go back to your regular mix and lock the offset again

With regards to combining with a GOXLR and its outputs, the first use I can think of for it is running live events over a PA while streaming. I've done similar things for robotics competitions as there are some sounds that don't need to come through the PA for the in-person attendees that the online viewers would need and vice-versa. I'm currently testing out the combination of GOXLR Mini and BEACN MIX CREATE for exactly this purpose.

The idea about swapping to audience mix and being able to adjust, is perfect. There is one thing I would say, the more options the better. I would've hoped to see this device be able to send each knob to a different audio channel, instead of just one audience mix. It'd allow for obs users to separate each audio source for more control in post. Maybe there's a way that I haven't seen yet.
