+Henrik Boriths Just 10 years ago Go computer programs were just a challenge to amateurs. The majority of actual Go players didn't believe a machine could stand any chance against a top level go player, especially not against the best player in the world. Even experts in the AI field were skeptical. Nevertheless, AlphaGo did win almost all games which indeed was unexpected by people who know the game or the technical challenges of such an AI. Bets are also done by people who are no experts in those fields who just put their faith in Google. That doesn't mean it was obvious AlphaGo would win, it certainly wasn't. The technology behind AlphaGo is still at the prototype level and never competed against a 9 dan world class player so far.

Adventure Time What you just said makes no sense. Big guns? "Intelligence systems"? The fuck? Lol, some of the biggest technological advances of our time is now in the hands of everyday people. The internet, smartphones, laptops, smartwatches. These are all things that were only imaginable if you were rich. And now you can buy them at a very reasonable price, some cheaper than your average household appliance.

Adventure Time People have been losing jobs since looms replaced people at textile mills. Your argument is at least a century old. You talk about AI like it's something the rich hoard, but the truth is that the rich like money and nothing else. If they can sell it, they will. Look no further than the arms race between Google, Microsoft, and Apple with their consumer "AI" programs. Cortana, Siri, and Google Now are constantly improving because it's profitable. AI is a huge cash cow, and no one would dare keep it from the general population just for shits and giggles.
