I remember someone once said “you Tacoma guys love to talk about your accidents” to which I responded “because we are around afterward to do so, it’s an positive attribute of the truck not a negative one of the driver.” This is the exact same truck I have and it’s been a phenomenal one.

So sorry your truck got totaled, but all glory to God for protecting you in that accident, AND providing you with a another truck! It's always unnerving to hear about/see accidents, and the damage that vehicles take, but to see how God was with you throughout the whole thing is simply amazing. May He continue to bless you as you continue on, and enjoy the new (used) ride!

Wow issac. This was really touching. That’s an amazing message. Glory to God. Surprisingly my family just bought a new truck as well recently. My mom had a 07 Nissan pathfinder that was on its last legs. We waited for a while to find a new truck, (yes the pathfinder is a truck, body on frame vehicle for those reading) cause the Nissan was on its last legs. After a month, we found an 01 dodge Durango with under 80,000 miles on Facebook market place. It was truly amazing that we found it for a cheap price too. This summer I’m hopping to save up and get my own car. God bless you Issac. Great video as usual.

Awesome video and testimony! I have a 2010 Magnetic Gray Tacoma SR5 crewcab 4x4 for nearly 14 years and just about to reach 90k miles. Rarely drove the truck due to using other vehicles to commute to work. But I admit, I've been looking at possibly purchasing a new Tacoma or a used white 2020 TRD PRO Tacoma that is available for sale at one of our local dealership. But after watching both of your videos, one with the TRD PRO and this video I've decided to hold off for now. My Tacoma runs fine and everything is mechanicaly sound. When the time is right, I believe God will provide and he has never failed us. Thanks for sharing brother!

When it makes more power, and gets better mpg by a fair amount. I do 🙋🏻♂️…. I have a 2nd gen and 16-18 mpg in a tiny ass truck that isn’t even fast is unacceptable. Turbochargers have been around for decades, heck Toyota used them on the Supra and mr2 back in the 80s 90s. Idk what the big deal is. Now the electric part is a whole other concern with having to change the battery years later.

Truly happy to hear those angels were on duty and saved you from harm my friend. Nice choice saying no to the outrageous new car prices. I was recently forced to replace my daily driver with something far more humble and reasonable than what I had. I did a lot of research and found the exact vehicle that was right for me. When I arrived to the dealership, I was informed it was mistakenly sold. I was really disappointed as it was exactly the trim level and option configuration I wanted. Just as I had given up, I received a call stating the prospective buyer backed out. I am now the proud owner of a 2024 Buick Envista Avenir... a model I'd love to see you do a review on. @johnb1685 Well for starters, I learned a valuable lesson not to idolize my material things because they can be taken away from me in an instant. I am now an even more careful driver than I was before! And I was able to share this story with all of you, many people have already said how much they appreciate the story so it could affect their lives. Never under estimate how God can move in any given scenario. We only look at the bad because we’re inherently selfish people! We’re like “why would you allow this to happen and inconvenience me God?” But that’s where we need to say “okay this was not how I thought today was gonna go, but I’m safe and I’m unhurt. So what can I learn from this?”

Nice ride bro congratulations!! I think if the trucks were even the same price & 3rd gen had low miles I think I would just go with that over the 4th gen I personally prefer simplicity + naturally aspirated engine. But with that huge price difference no way to justify that. I got my brand new truck changed out all my fluid to amsoil. Front diff, rear diff, transfer case, & manual transmission fluid. It used to clunk a shitload when I would shift even brand new straight off the lot after using amsoil 95% of the clunking is gone that fluid must be much better than what they use from the factory for some reason. My buddy & I looked at each other when we first drove off, we could not believe how much quieter the truck was & I had 5,000 miles when I did it! Keep the faith 💪🏼 strong my dude! Kept you safe from that accident just like it kept big Trump safe from a bullet! 🙏🏼💯👍🏼🫵🏼👍🏼 Just change your 🛢️ & those fluids with that amsoil+ your spark plugs about every 75,000 miles along with belts & hoses shit will last forever

Last year I heard that Toyota was going to redesign the Tacoma in 24, so we were going to wait until 26-27 to buy a new one so that the bugs of a redesigned could get worked out. Then I found out that Toyota was dropping the 3.5L V6 and going to the 2.4L 4cyl Turbo. I immediately started looking for a new 23 TRD Off Road, Double Cab, 6’ bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs, in White, Barcelona Red or Lunar Rock. I looked for several months in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Oregon. I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted anywhere until 2-29-24. I was going to settle for an Access cab with the 6’ bed. Our local Toyota dealership had a used 23 Access Cab. I test drove it but it was the Gutless 2.7L 4cyl engine and I needed the 3.5L V6. The salesman took us to the used area, but all of the TRDs were the worthless 5’ bed. I told him that I had to have the 6’ bed. He then informed us that there was a new one in the back but he didn’t know if it was a 5’ or 6’ bed but someone else had been interested in it the day before. When he pulled up in try Tacoma, it indeed had the 6’ bed. Apparently the dealership had had it since July of 23 and no one wanted it because it was a 6’ bed. The dealership had installed running boards and a Tri- Fold tonneau to try to entice someone to buy it. The MSRP was $51,848 and I bought it for $48K. Our local dealership has a $1,995 dealership markup on ALL new vehicles and that had already been removed as well. I’m glad that no one else wanted the 6’ bed. I drive about 6-7K miles per year and we keep our vehicles for 15-20 years or 250K - 300K miles. I’ll probably be dead in 20 years, so I’ll be driving our (my) 23 TRD until I’m dead. I’m sure my wife will keep it until her death so she can use it to plow the 5-7 feet of snow off our road and driveway every winter.
@AlphaShark6 ай бұрын
That is a fun story! Thank you for sharing. I get along fine with the 5ft bed, but I absolutely see the practicality of the 6ft! What color was yours?

I'm probably not going to buy for 1-2 years, so I'm just starting to do the research now which is how I found your channel and I'm glad I did. I love your outlook and faith bases approach. My main use will be general stuff taking the kids bikes to places we can ride and I'll be towing an open motorcycle trailer with my Harley to places where I can ride, so towing is important. From what I could tell from other reviews I've looked at the Tacoma isn't the best option for towing, but I could be wrong about that. I did love the versatility of the bed on the Tacoma I had. They are def nice trucks and have a lot to offer. On a side note I put down a deposit on a Cybertruck because I love the idea of a truck without the added negative of gas mileage. I also love the power delivery of electric. However, I think its going to cost more than I want to spend which is why I have shifted my sight to something 3 ish years old and way less expensive. Keep up the good work brother.

I skipped buying the 3rd Gen Tacoma and waited for the new 4th Gen Tacoma. What a ripoff!! 47 to 53k for a Tacoma off road 😂 I went and looked at a 2023 Honda Ridgeline RTL HPD. Wow! The truck has everything you want! Leather, sun roof, power rear window, memory seats, heated mirror, heated seats, magic rear seats, huge bed trunk, great fuel mileage around 26 to 28 mpg. More power than 3rd Gen Tacoma. All for 38,500. 😊

However, is not a body on frame actual truck and doesn’t hold its value…good luck lol

@@dms14 Yeah but if wt is happy, good for him! The Ridgeline will always be a joke truck on my channel but I respect those who really love their trucks!

@@dms14 I looked up the retention value of the Ridgeline before buying. It holds value just below the Tacoma. Since I saved 12,000 dollars compared to the equivalent 2024 Tacoma Limited. It doesn't matter how much it depreciates. I still win by a mile 😂 I don't trust the turbo after seeing the new Tundra with recalls.

Hey just to let you know, the first video I watched was your 4 yr review of “thumper” and I admittedly have watched too many videos about tacomas to keep track of each reviewer. But what stuck out to me was that you mentioned you are Christian and read a Bible verse, and the vulnerability in the story you told about painting your wheels with your friend. Just want you to be proud of yourself for that. I found your video because of the Tacoma but I subscribed because of who you are. God bless.

Thank you, it means more than you know. I love when God uses stories like the one in the 4 year video in spite of myself. I was not the hero there, haha God was!

Believe it or not, I was actually going 5-7 miles under the speed limit! But that was still too fast for the ice.

Wise move buying the 3rd Gen instead of a 4th. I think most mechanics would agree that a turbo charged 4 cylinder in a truck is probably going to die a lot sooner than a naturally aspirated V6. I bought my 2021 TRD Sport 4x4 to help me in homesteading and to because it has a proven track record of reliability. Lately Toyota has been having quality control issues with both the Tundra and a few issues so far have made themselves evident in the 4th gen. I think they might be able to resolve them but you *never* buy the first model year of a new powerplant and transmission. I don't know about you, but out in the sticks with nobody within a hundred miles, I want to *know* that my rig is reliable and easy to maintain. Finally, and not strictly Tacoma related, glad you're okay, I've had some close calls myself when I lived up North and I credit God for my survival on each of those few occasions.
