I lately steppes half an inch wider on my sumo deadlift, twisted my hands a bit more aggressively outwards and looked down the entire time. Made all the difference for me!

Thanks very much for this information Brian, I've been stuck on deadlifts for so long as well as constant re-occurring injuries. Your information for correct form and mental queues have been a life saver, and I can only imagine my future self will appreciate you even more when I don't turn into a crumpled mess of an old man.

Thanks for the tips Brian. Totally guilty of not packing the lats and wonky head position. Tomorrow is deadlift day and I can't wait to put these tips into practice. Looking forward to part 3.

Deads have just never clicked for me like squats. Hoping one of the cues in this series translates over to the movement, always a miscommunication between the brain and body

Brian, I am a long time subscriber, so I will openly admit I haven't yet watched this full video. But I want to be early to ask a question... I would love to hear your opinion on cervical spine protection through strength training (and obviously Grappling) I have a strong neck (relatively) but nonetheless I have still been challenged in truly protecting my spine by proper bracing of the neck. It would be appreciated if you could talk to us about protecting our spines in the neck area in your own experience. Thank you for your videos, they are important to me and many other people.

Where do you find it´s best to breath in before you lift ? i do something like a cat back (while having my hands on the bar),breathe and then try extend to a neutral back as much as possible but i feel like i am not getting my back as neutral as i want it to be, like the air is in my way, preventing me from extending my back further (i am not fat :D )

My lumbar spine is still “loose” when pushing from the floor. As soon as I start to push it bend. I have followed all these step kinda religiously when deadlifting, but I can’t seem to fix this 🤕 Any suggestions as to why this might happen?
@youssef25753 жыл бұрын
Make sure that you take a deep breath and squeeze both your lats and your abs
@wezedwards2343 жыл бұрын
Personally, I find that if I'm sufficiently tight prior to dropping my hips to get into position, the hip drop takes away the slack and causes the bar to "float"
@wigletron28462 жыл бұрын
Sometimes the hip drop is enough to get the weight off the ground too

You don’t need every piece of info to lift. The biggest parts are being consistent, training on a smart program with effort, and getting proper sleep and nutrition. Doing will get you much further than knowing

I deadlift on stiff bar and pulling the slack out of the bar is simply not possible as the it is not whipy like a deadlift bar, therefore making me very slow of the floor.
