Not going to lie. Al's obsession with taking in kittens reminds me of my late grandmother who at one point had over 80 cats that she cared for as...well I don't know the exact title, but she basically had a shelter for cats to keep the town's stray cat population in check. She knew them all buy name and could tell at a glance how they were doing. I don't know how she afforded the vet bills, but seeing as she had a licence to have that many, then she had to at least get some degree of a discount besides being related to a number of vets.

Well it follows the manga up until a certain point. You could always watch it after Brotherhood though. :3 They included a lot of scenes from the novels (if you've read them) and some scenes from the extras at the end of the mangas. ^-^
