@@breakdowngamingthesexy Yeah, but Sans comes back and his death isn't handled as a fridging. With Alphys, it's bury your gays on top of fridging, on top of her being sidelined *hard* in favor of Gaster and dying in the only episode she has a speaking part in, and it's pretty emblematic of problems in the fandom where Alphys is diminished in favor of Gaster or Sans as the science character. It rubbed me the wrong way, and don't mean to attack the creator, I also know she's of the mind that Alphys didn't even write all of the true lab reports/do all of the experiments, so it's hard not to be a bit cynical about her treatment. Horrortale's treatment of Alphys is another example, tho (though like w/ Camila, I got nothing personal against Sour Apple Studios).

One thing I'm happy you clarified in this video is the fact that Alphys is canonically bi, not lesbian. Like the way I've seen people get actually mad at her initially having a crush on Asgore instead of Undyne in Deltarune is certainly frustrating when if you actually pay attention outside of fanon content, she clearly has a crush on both Asgore and Undyne, but Undyne just happens to be who she ends up with. I'm not even a bi person but I know many people who would probably consider that bi erasure, and it sucks to see in a fandom that's typically pretty good at handling LGBTQIA+ issues. I get headcanoning a character as something else, that's fine. But when you push your headcanon onto others, that's when it becomes a problem.

Bi erasure is a real problem, not only in fandoms, but in general. I don't get why people get so uncomfortable w/ the idea of someone having attraction to multiple genders. o_o It doesn't undermine any of their attractions to any gender.

I also see an issue a lot in fandoms where people make gay characters have homosexuality as their whole personality. We need more acceptance of all sexual preferences, espeically Bi, Pan, and Ace, and generally better and less one note representation in media.

remember that flowey’s seen and done absolutely everything the world’s had to offer. it’s likely he just got bored of her. he doesn’t mention undyne either. he only really talks about papyrus, sans, and his parents, and even then it’s kept brief. everyone else he likely got tired of and just stopped caring.

@@brianco28 I think there is an Easter egg in the Lab. If you look inside the trash, you’ll find a note which says something along the lines of “I know what you did” in scribbly writing. Many people, including myself, thinks that flowey wrote the note. So he probably still has a grudge on Alphys. Even after all those resets, he still does this.

I once saw someone say Alphys was the most relatable character in the game, followed by someone saying "you experimented on people and made them die???" or, at least, basically that. Which, even as someone who's not the biggest fan of hers, I knew that was the stupidest possible takeaway. But she's grown on me through the years, and this video definitely made me appreciate her as a character more.

The thing is, that's not even what she did? O_o The monsters were already dying. Asgore instructed her to experiment on them. if anything, she "saved" them. Obviously not without complications, but they are happy in the epilogue.

I don't know why people keep saying Alphys experimented on people. What happened was the equivalent of people donating their bodies to science after death, it's completely common and normal. It's not like anyone expected those monsters to actually wake up.

@@matti.8465 Yes, but they're kinda always in incredible pain and are disordered, something that people here are ignoring Not saying Alphys is evil, but they're not exactly perfect, which is something Alphys themselves expresses in True Pacifist. Her largest blunders have been 1) Faking making a new Monster from nothing, that being Mettaton is just possessed, and not a new Monster (although she did succeed with Flowey but that was just Asriel's essence latching onto something with Determination) 2) Flowey 3) Testing the DT experiment on literally ALL the monsters she was handed That's about it.

Also can we discuss how Flowey exactly exists? Asriel's dust spreads over the flowers, whatever essence was left of him after his soul was shattered, apparently chose a single flower, which at that point, wasn't sentient. Somehow, because of having the essence of a Monster, it grows faster. Alphys then chooses that flower, and revives Asriel???? Because the Flower probably wouldn't have come to life if it didn't have Asriel's essence??? Probably? Asriel's soul, along with Chara's, is shattered, gone. Now apparently, a being that strong, still lingers even after death, waiting for something to attach to, something living- which means it NEEDS determination. That's an assumption based on Alphys and Flowey's lines of "what if something without the will to live is given determination" and Flowey's genocide dialogue. If determination is the will to persevere, through anything, and Flowey didn't come to life just because of Asriel's ashes scattered on some living things, that it only did after Alphys gave it determination- well that is where i made the assumption from Also whatever seems to linger after Flowey and Chara died, what is it? Chara also finds a source of determination and latches onto Frisk, but what latched on? They don't have souls because those shattered So what the heck is there for them to exist again?

Whilst I fall into the category of finding her text messages really annoying during gameplay, in terms of her character in story she is painfully underrated. From the small bits such as the mentioned interest in alternative universes to the true lab and its experiments in its entirety, she is full of really cool character plots which I'm extremely surprised not many people explore in depth unlike other characters.

I never really understood people finding characters like MK and Alphys annoying, since dialogue is half the point of Undertale, and it's always cool to get lore, jokes, or lore jokes. It does get a little annoying on subsequent playthroughs though.

It just boggles my mind that I never realized how important Alphys is in Undertale until recently. Without her, Flowey would've never existed. Asriel would've been dead forever (I mean he still is in Undertale, but you probably get it). Flowey would've never absorbed the souls, became Asriel, and broke the barrier. Monsters would still be trapped Underground. If anything, Alphys freed monsterkind. Technically. Not without the casualties.

Yeah. Alphys and Papyrus I'd say have the most direct hand in facilitating the events that lead to the pacifist ending, in a roundabout way. xD Flowey, too, of course, but Alphys and Papyrus both played big parts in pacifist's leadup.

Although with Berdly, it’s very different than with Alphys. They’re not “annoying” in the same sense. Berdly is seen as annoying because he openly acts like a condescending, know-it-all jerk, while Alphys is seen as annoying mainly because of the text message spam in Hotland, as well as being cringy when ranting about Mew Mew 1 being better than Mew Mew 2. But what is similar between the two characters, is that both are grossly misunderstood by some parts of the fandom. Some fans fail to see the nuance and tragedy in their backstories, and thus fail to empathize with them.

I think a lot of Alphys hate is because people see their own tendencies in her. It wounds the ego to realize that sometimes we lie to make ourselves sound cooler, or go off on unsolicited rants about our hobbies, or have various intense crushes complete with elaborate fantasies, or suffer from an anxiety disorder, or suffer from imposter syndrome, etc. etc. I know that's the case with me; so often when I cringe at Alphys or characters like her, I'm cringing at myself. It's really funny how human a character she is. She's complicated, flawed, and like most of us is just kind of fumbling through and trying to do her best. I didn't exactly love her on my first playthrough but I definitely have an appreciation for her now.

It is not after a couple years that I really get what the whole of the Alphys scenes has as a MORAL MESSAGE. The way it's structured, the pacing of the dialogue, the way Alphys confesses fabrication after fabrication. It's all about not letting lies control your life, and if you've BUILT too much upon them, knowing the importance to come out with the truth so you can be YOURSELF as best as you can again, with the help of those who care for you now being able to know you better. I do wonder, If Berdly were to confess to everyone in Deltarune. Wouldn't Alphys be the perfect consultant. Personally, that's a dinamic I'm dying for to appear in future chapters.

I’ll be honest, I sort of crushed on Alphys when I first encountered her. She’s cute, awkward and a massive nerd. Those are traits I tend to latch onto with girls since those are traits I also share. I know she tends to be unpopular due to her behavior during most of Hotland and what she did in the True Lab but… She never struck me as a truly bad person. Just someone who was lost, confused, wanted to be liked and appreciated and was afraid of letting others down. But now that she’s found peace within herself, she’s able to move forward and keep going despite everything. That may not be determination in the literal sense of this universe but that’s determination from within if I’ve ever seen it. God, I love Alphys. Wish more people did instead of just writing her off as an annoying nerd with a dark side. Thank you for making this analysis, Dorked. 🙂

I think a lot of the later mischaracterization came from the sickness all fandoms have. As the source material gets older, people start to really focus on specific traits, likes and dislikes, and even a few lines of dialogue as well as just straight up misinformation. Papyrus was greatly dumbed down and turned into an avid spaghetti lover. Most of Undynes depth as a character was taken from her. Even Asgore (though Deltarune definitely helped) was turned into a himbo divorcee obsessed with getting back with Toriel. Gaster has a good deal of canon information but even then a lot is speculation. Alphys definitely got some of the worst of it, overlooked, killed off, and bashed. All despite playing a major role in the story.

You really can't get a better example of mischaracterization from fanon interference than Sans, in Undertale he's -The weakest enemy, who does 1 damage per hit, and dies in one hit, he can dodge, and use KARMA to do damage, but in a pacifist route, he'd actually be a decently easy fight (Minus his weird frame mechanics) -An overall jokester, a slackoff, he doesn't care for his job as a Sentry all that much, and he loves making lighthearted puns, and doing silly pranks. -The royal judge, I think, and one really good at reading facial expressions. Meanwhile, in most fan works, he's -The strongest monster alive, who can solo the entire underground no dif -Has determination, half the time, even though the existence of Flowey and HIS ability to reset would be proof against that headcanon -Hell, they changed the color of his glowing eye completely, from blue and yellow, to just blue. -Can remember timelines after they get erased, and somehow knows about EVERYTHING you've ever done. -And, the son of Gaster, who has a VAGUE appearance resembling a skeleton, I guess. I don't get how he got done so dirty...

@@Morrigan101 Not really, I mean, the possibility is out there, but it's just as likely that he's also just really good at reading expressions, like he says, and his knowledge of the timelines just happens to coincide with that to give him enough context to make educated guesses based off of expressions. Then again, I haven't played Undertale in awhile, so I might be completely forgetting a part of the game where he does clearly remember the timelines.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Alphys is WAY more important to Undertale's story than Sans. Then again, most characters are, his biggest scenes are either optional encounters or hidden at the end of a route the game discourages you from playing. And sure, the Gaster Followers imply that the old doctor's genius far surpassed Alphys, but I think they're biased. There's a decent chance that's literally Gaster (or pieces of him) stroking his own ego.

I half agree. I think she's more important to the Immediate Story (Flowey, Mettaton, etc.), but there's clearly another (if not many more) stories beneath that top layer, in which I believe Sans is more important. I mean it's very clear there's something going on there, and he has a lot of knowledge regarding Resets and changes between Timelines. Plus the possible Gaster connection, which is obviously bigger than Undertale itself (as in it spans over more than just Undertale, hard breaching into both chapters of Deltarune)

@@krakios3950 I'll argue the fact alphys worked on the gaster blueprints is big, maybe if she had more time to focus, sans, flowey and her could make It work again with how stellar alphys can be, of course we know through the many resets nothing happened with the machine so It's likely either flowey got bored too early or no important breakthrough occured without determination

NEO being Mettaton's first form surprisingly makes sense the more I think about it. Looking back at it in Undertale, it's clear the form was more about showmanship than it was about practicality. Comparing it to other forms, there are so many features such as the massive wings, new face, and Even Mettaton confirms this by saying that Alphys should've "worked more on the defences." It wouldn't make sense for Mettaton's final form to be his weakest, *unless* that form was actually his first that was made before Alphys wanted Mettaton to be designed for human-eradication. With that in mind, it is interesting to see how each previous form shows Alphys streamlining Mettaton for that purpose, slowly making him more compact and strong. By the time he is in his MTT Box Form, he cannot be damaged by humans as he can kill them with as little as pointing at them as electricity comes out of his fingertips. In general, the plot-point of Mettaton being forced into human-eradication by Alphys was something I always found interesting about his character, so it's sad to never see it explored in the game or by most fans. It's one of the reasons why I like Inverted Fate so much, I like that Mettaton's conflicts throughout the comic come from his relation to stardom and/or Undyne breathing down his neck to kill Frisk. In general, I think that praise extends to a bunch of characters. You managed to write original conflicts for them which worked for their characters! (Especially Sans, I like that he isn't treated like someone who can do no wrong and that both he and Papyrus go through character arcs throughout the story). Sorry for turning this into me gushing about IF, it is my favourite Undertale AU for its writing and characterisation after all!

There really is a lot to consider with MTT! I like to think EX was a compromise as the initial NEO form wasn't very practical, and I can't imagine it would've been easy to maintain with stuff like wings. EX removes some of the flair in exchange for pragmaticism while still being very showy and human-like, which I think was what MTT wanted all along. Thanks for the kind words about IF, too! I had a lot of fun planning out his arc there.

A really late reply, but NEO isn't Mettaton's weakest form, not at all. His weakest would be EX, and even then, EX is stronger than regular Undyne, which is pretty impressive. Mettaton NEO has 90 ATK and only 9 DEF, but despite his low defense, he has 30 000 HP. That's more than Undying. He only seems so weak at that point in the No Mercy route because Frisk is too powerful, even Undyne the Undying would die in one hit at that point in the game.

@@Dorkedactually I would consider the Box on wheels to be the strongest. The ability to Palpatine Frisk by lifting a finger and being impervious to damage is a lot of power. The wheel is the only weak point however. Despite that it seems to outclass the other forms. If only Mettaton wasn’t so focused on showmanship the game might end at core no matter how good the player is.

Honestly Alphys probably has one of the most tragic backstories of all Undertale characters and everyone just kinda forgets about it because of that other Royal Scientist and how she interrupts the flow of Hotland. Really nice video bringing this to light!

Thanks! I think it's easy to get swept up in the Gaster hype when the fandom makes it out to be this big deal, but as someone who played in 2015, it was just so weird to watch her gradually get consumed by the G man hype.

Again I just can't bother caring how tragic a character's backstory if they make the game less fun and more annoying. I generally just don't enjoy her character. I don't know why everyone tries to justify her as if she's a real person, I mean, she's a video game character, so it's her job to be enjoyable. I wouldn't say what I'm saying about real people because it's not a real person's job to entertain me. But in the context of a game I paid for to entertain myself, having a character that makes me less entertained makes me not like that character.

@@SuperIsaiah I agree with if you don’t like a character, you are free to dislike it. But people should be able to voice the reason they do like a character without others discrediting them. And that happened often with people who liked Alphys. This video might not have convinced *you* that Alphys is a good character, but some people did actually have a change of heart towards her character upon watching. This video is also giving those people who were silenced by people against Alphys a voice and a chance to be seen. It’s the same matter with Amy Rose. It’s really strange to see Alphys’s work in the True Lab be credited to Gaster because of grammatical or case inconsistencies, when Gaster himself is known to be far more strict with his own writing/dialogue (Such as the odd spacing, exclusive pronoun use in Japanese, or preference towards Caps Lock)

Yeah. Gaster has a very distinct way of speaking from what we can see in Entry Number 17 and in Deltarune. Some people attribute it to Sans as well, but even the lowercase entries don't sound like him. It's always bothered me, and that's why I wanted to present the entries in order so that folks could see that that interpretation is a bit silly.

Honestly, if it weren't for fandom mischaracterization, I'm positive that Alphys would be the fan favorite. I say that as someone whose favorite is Sans. When you really think about it fanon Sans is just a recolor of Alphys. Nearly every attribute he is falsely labeled as better applies to her. Nerdy, insecure, depressed, multiverse enthusiast, hell even her "dark turn" post genocide. I'd even argue that Alphys' change in demeanor is more jarring than Sans' on top of having more significance in the narrative. There's also the fact that she has history with Sans which makes it extra weird to me how most discuss around her is negative or nonexistent. Having history with Sans is usually all a character needs to receive love from the fandom. It's wild how Gaster stole her spotlight just by being mysterious. On a brighter note, it brings me so much joy to see someone correctly analysis Alphys WHILE praising her. Keep up the great work!!

One moment that makes me happy is that Alphys claims "You may never hear from me" after Undyne's date. Papyrus even calls you with a hint of urgency and concern. This makes me assume that she was planning to do the worst after "owning up to her own mistakes". But if you ignore Papyrus and head to Asgore, in contrast of all this context, she seems very happy in this neutral ending. One of two where she pops up to talk to the player. This implies that after "owning up to her mistakes", which might mean she was going to send the Amalgamates back to their families, maybe with the acceptance from those families and the support she experienced from her friends (including the player during the date sequence), she decided to go against it, looking to a brighter future instead of disappearing. I find this very wholesome.

Animation is really hard work and I can acknowledge the effort that goes into making a series like that, but I just can't agree with its writing decisions and how it treated Alphys in particular. This core part of UT's cast is cast aside for Gaster. I wanted to really take time to organize EVERYTHING and make it clear that the changes in writing styles served a characterization purpose. I honestly like Alphys a lot more than Sans . Don't get me wrong, I love the main UT cast as a whole but In my opinion, Alphys is the best of the group. I know most people really didn't like how most of her interactions slowed down progression (I think Toby was gonna put a way to stop her notifications at one point in development) but I think taking that away would also take away what would define who Alphys is. People blame Alphys for creating the Amalgamates also forget that nowhere outside of the True Lab states what happens to a monster with Determination (unless I overlooked something) and it just grinds my gears how people act like she and Asgore are the most irredeemable of the cast when Toriel is not as innocent as most people like to believe (Why didn't she try to reason with Asgore or try to stop him instead of running off to the ruins like a coward? Something about alphys' character that strikes me personally is that even when things start going wrong in the CORE, Alphys never abandons you, and she uses her own ingenuity instead of giving up, even saving you from the blue lasers that would otherwise stop you in your tracks.

I cried during the Alphys date during my first playthrough of Undertale because for me, seeing Alphys was like looking into a mirror. I’m a nerdy, lesbian woman in an engineering field who has battled depression, social anxiety, self doubt, and self-loathing at times throughout my whole life. In Alphys, I saw the same desire to help others, the same ambition to help society at large with the same uncertainty about how to do that. I also saw the same fear of rejection, the same fatigue of trying to hide every part of you that you think others will hate, the same impostor syndrome, the same shame. And growth past the flawed reasoning that fuel anxiety and self-hate; the same growth which I had started earlier that year. Sans and Gaster are interesting because they’re mysterious, but Alphys has the most realistic characterization in the game.

I feel like the problems with Alphys character arc stem from the fact that its brought up way too late in the game. We literally find out about the mintues before we fight Asriel, thus there isn't much room to show the consequences of her reputation to fall down and her dealing with that. Personally i like Alphys chracter arc being a deconstruction of the socially awkward nerd, wherein her insecurities and depression are protrayed very accuratly in how they affect her and have substantial reasons for exisitng and don't just exist to endear her to the player with her quirkyness. I hope that her Deltraune counterpart has to potential to change her reputation among the fandom as is hope that Alphys gets a character arc of becoming more confident.

I think a part of it is definitely that a lot of the buildup to it is very subtle foreshadowing and some of it you have to actively go out of yoru way to find. People who don't do any optional interactions and exploration will definitely be more thrown off than those who poke everything.

I really think a lot of it had to do with the Gaster mysteries overshadowing her. People love mysteries and datamining/ARG type content, so naturally folks flocked to this big, mysterious figure and as a result, Gaster became really pivotal to the fan community, and over time Alphys got left further and further in the dust. I don't hate Gaster, and I think there's room for works exploring him, but it's a shame it came at the cost of Alphys.

Man, that was awesome! Ya covered her so well and went over every detail, as it seems, and really do her justice. Funnily enough, the soul-trait "justice"'s color's yellow, too. Gaster is surely an amazingly interesting character but it's a shame how the mystery around him completely overshadows Alphys. I really appreciate how you decided to highlight Alphys' importance to both Undertale and Deltarune. She's rather unappreciated by a good few parts of the fandom, yet she's an important part of so many characters' lives (like. she basically helped both Mettaton and Mad Mew Mew get their new bodies and supported them, for one). And I hate how she's sidelined for people like Gaster to steal the spotlight. that being said, I really appreciate how Inverted Fate has her be faced with similar-but-also-actually-very different problems, and how she's ended up there as a result.

Alphys is a socially anxious, avoidant, shut-in with no confidence in herself and self hatred issues. If that doesn't sound like a very large chunk of the Fandom, I don't know what does. And when you've got self-hatred, seeing someone else with similar flaws can actually result in a hatred of that person, purely because they remind you of everything wrong with yourself. Alphys is an accidental mirror up to the Fandom and everyone hates her for it. That's why I hated her for the longest time. Thankfully I've been able to grow in my personal life and at the same time I've warmed up to her character, even if the Hotland section does still annoy me slightly. I think we should all be a little kinder to Alphys. (Plus she's also got a ton of potential when it comes to fan-works.)

I never understood why people think Alphys is this cruel mad scientist who wanted to hurt others... She had no idea that her experiments will lead to the creation of the amalgamates. Her being ashamed of the results is understandable, even if she didn't mean to make amalgamates, she still caused incredible pain to these monsters and she wouldn't want to show their relatives what happened. She still looked after the amalgamates the best she could. I always loved Alphys a lot, I even cosplayed her once for a con when I was a teen! She really resonated with me back then, shy, low self-esteem and avoidance towards others, plus the weird sense of guilt despite not doing anything wrong on purpose... I'm in a better place now, but I still love Alphys a lot, she's adorable and I never understood the hate for her.

I've always said that while Sans is the character everyone in the fandom wants to be, Alphys is the character most fans are similar to in reality: nerdy, yearns for escapism, wants to be a part of Undertale's story, obsessed with alternate universes and timelines, doesn't feel capable or important despite making incredible things because they're derived from a previous person's work (Toby for the fans, Gaster for Alphys). I think Alphys's underappreciated status in the Undertale/Deltarune fandom says a lot about how willing people are to look at themselves as flawed characters. I get that some people might not forgive her, but using that same logic, it's just as easy to not forgive pretty much every single character you meet. Toriel claims to want to keep Frisk safe, but doesn't help past letting them leave. Papyrus plays at being the "big damn hero" and his childishness legitimately causes problems, especially when he works with Undyne in Waterfall. Undyne, aside from having some anger issues (relatable tbh), lets her human prejudice drive her to kill a child who, depending on your playthrough, might not have even done anything wrong. In a Pacifist run, she knows the human is innocent, but doesn't care. Mettaton's main flaw is his vanity, and his relationship with Alphys is complicated. Sans basically sees everything as futile and doesn't do much of anything unless you push him to the breaking point by killing almost everyone else. And Asgore is, well, Asgore. Every character in Undertale is flawed. Undertale is all about the choice to forgive. So why is it that some fans struggle so much to forgive Alphys, one of the few main characters in the game who never tries to kill you? Whose only sin was wanting to feel some kind of respect or admiration that she hadn't felt in a very long time? (Personally, I find I am far harder on myself than other people would be towards me. In that sense, I relate to Alphys. And I don't think I'm the only one. Other people must see themselves in her too. Why else would they be so hard on her?)

Great analysis, but honestly I think Asgore deserves more than what he has Right now. Everyone sees him as a child murderer, but he, in all honesty, is not nearly as bad. All of the previous humans we're violent and dangerous, While Asgore regretted his decisions greatly. He's Also kind, passionate, nice, and a great gardener. He's way better than people put him out to be. Did I mention He was a great dad while Chara was with the Dreemurs too?

Yeah, Alphys is my second favorite character and I'll always be annoyed at how Glitchtale treated a LOT of the cast. I forget exactly when in season 2 I stopped watching but it just got to be Underground versus Villian Sue with so many characters getting sidelined. I specifically remember Frisk erasing themselves, the only interesting new human character dying, and Mettaton getting completely sidelined and bodied when after Alphys's death he should have been EXTREMELY prominent, or at least had a chance to shine. I remember checking out so much. Anyway, yeah, I've always liked Alphys, and it's a shame how rarely she's ever portrayed outside of being Undynes girlfriend. She's a lot more, deserved better, it's it's always amazing to see well done interpretations of her. I'm really excited how things will go for her in Deltarune

Yeah, I stopped watching before Jessica died, but was bummed to find out it happened because Jessica was a pretty decent character. Honestly, my personal gripes have a lot to do with some of the worldbuilding and characterization. It gave all this focus to Sans and Gaster but Alphys got done so dirty, she died in the only episode she had a speaking part in. Plus it's like... Sans came back after being killed off, as did Asriel, but Alphys was the only one who stayed dead. Tho I heard Sans died again? Idk. I kinda stopped watching after a while. No shade to those who love the series, tho.

my largest issue with Alphys is the hotland section, even on a first playthrough it's the lowest point of the game (even grinding in the ruins in genocide is more engaging), but other than that she's a great character. Great video as always!

First, YES, developer commentary and stuff like that would be awesome! I've been trying to make my own AUs for a while, and could probably use that for help! Plus, developer commentary is interesting. Now, the essay. I used to dislike Alphys. But not for any reason whatsoever to do with her character. It was because I have a huge crush on Undyne, and the Alphys date was punctuated by me attempting not to shout "NOOOOO MY WIFE, GET AWAY LIZARD" and the True Lab was more of an... Excuse. After a while, though, I... Chilled out, and actually started liking Alphys quite a bit. Actually, I think Inverted Fate had a bit of a hand in it, just like it had a hand in me liking Papyrus and Mettaton way more.

This was an awesome video! Would love to see one on someone like Asgore next, or perhaps a more minor character that still has a bit to talk about like the Mad Dummy or Napstablook. I'd also love to see a good lookthrough of Sans as an objective character in undertale (although i know you've done a few sans centric theories before.) in particular his morals and how if you look into it, he isn't exactly the nicest of people throughout the story. I mean.... he could've stopped you very easily in Snowdin, but didn't due to his apathy and belief nothing could change. He also mentions that he would've killed you if it wasn't for promising Toriel. In short, Sans is far from what one could consider a 'Heroic' character like hes portrayed a lot in the fandom, and I feel like a deep analyzis of sans motives and ideals through the story would be fascinating. (This isn't coming from someone who's anti-sans by the way, I love him as a character. I just hate people who potray him as this hero of justice and determination who dunks the human and gives them a bad time every time they make a mild fuckup)
