personally, with how the story treats her actions, and the fact the game kinda lets her list of war crimes off the hook pretty easy with a "I know i did a bad thing...but I promise i want to be better." thing ripped out of every youtuber apology video ever...it's kinda hard for me to...like alphys but i will not deny she is an interesting character

Well, we do know one thing about one of the souls the yellow soul a.k.a. The Undertale yellow fan game is Canon.

Ok but there's still many plot holes. The different writings, the inconsistency of some statements, etc. Alphys is NOT an old monster, the flower vessel was returned to the garden??? The queen being mentioned even if Alphys has no idea there was another goat monster, not even recognizing her voice from the TAPES??? The CORE seems to be not as old as the True Lab.

I think it's Sans' tranquil fury that I absolutely adore and wish that people would focus more on. The "You better watch yourself, kid. Things are looking real bad for you" and "Go to Hell" just hurt so much more than if he was all visually emotional and shouting. It's cold, straight-to-the-point with no sugarcoating. The words he speaks in the Neutral Endings hurt more than what he says in the Genocide route, frankly.

Papyrus is one of my favorite characters in the game and I wish the fandom didn't do him so dirty. As a sibling, I've always taken Papyrus' frustration at Sans' puns and antics to be just a typical sibling thing, not a hatred of puns or humor. When my friends and I played through the game recently, the ones who voiced Papyrus and Sans would throw in other jokes and banter and it really was just sibling things.

I know it's pretty old video ,but ite geniely good. And tbh,Dreemurr's parenting reminds me of my own family's parenting ,thats why Toriel and Asgore were really 'familiar' to me ,Kris is just perfect example of a troubled kid from 'perfect' family

Maybe the odd memory issues with papyrus is just from centuries of timeline reset deja-vu from flowey, where the underground is the only thing theyre familiar with enough to remember anymore.

The flower watering thung could also be referencing that one neutral ending when he is in the royal guard but his only job is to care for the flowers. (Yes ik im VERY late)

I think that’s a good thought that it’s Ralsei/Us. Would work with my crack theory that the subplot is about falling in love with video game characters, with Dess/Gaster (or Desaster if you prefer) in their FF knock-off, that eventually led to Gaster breaking the bounds of his own reality to try and reach her. Ultimately being able to reach the level of ‘urban legend’ to be able to semi-exist in the bunker, but at least be able to send Ice-E, made real by Kris’s stories, to get Dess.

Asgore and Papyrus is a duo I need more of. They're both sweet hearts, one silly goofy, the other made a bit too many mistakes.

Damn, Sans and Papyrus are really multilingual. I mean, English, Japanese, Binary, with the addtional headcannons of Wing Dings and ASL/JSL? I wouldn't be surprised if these two knew morse code.

I personally believe Papyrus is aware of Undyne's lie. Papyrus is actually known for changing his interests whenever someone else he cares about finds them distasteful, so him putting up this charade for the sake of politeness isn't that profound of a thought. Man. Aware Papyrus is so fun to think about.

While Fanon Papyrus can be very funny to see with all the 'his face turns realistic when he's angry', Cannon Paps needs a lot more attention brought to his issues. While Sans' problems are quite frankly an open book if you play all endings of the game, you have to actively search for even the scraps of discontent Papyrus gives you. There're few interpretations that characterize Papyrus correctly, but I found some of the best to be Zarla's 'Handplates' Papyrus, Belief Fangame Papyrus, Jakie's Underverse Papyrus, and Unrestedjade's 'Flowey Is Not A Good Life Coach' Papyrus, and while FINAGLC is most definitely leaning towards heavy angst, ALOT of the dramatic moments actually have proper reasons behind them.

Undyne the Undying being called a True Hero hits hard for me, because in my experience she really was one. When I first played Undertale, back in 2015 or 2016, I was doing it completely blind. So, when monsters popped up, I casually killed them as if it was a normal RPG. But when I mentioned it to an online friend, they told me I messed up my game and would be better off locking in to the Gnocide route at this point. They told me to do the grinding until nothing else appeared in every area etc etc, and since I was completely blind and didn't know anything, I just followed their advice. Sadly my first experience with Toriel and Papyrus's fights were pretty bad because of this. But then I got to Undyne the Undying. And I just could not get past her no matter what I tried. I just sucked at the game. And that makes sense, I wasn't introduced to the Green Heart's mechanic organically through her Neutral fight, I just jumped straight into Nightmare Difficulty without even knowing. At this point, my "friend" had also already spoiled that I shouldn't kill anyone for a good ending, so I just decided to not kill anyone from that point on, and spared Monster Kid, and fought Undyne normally. I ended up with a pretty bad Neutral ending, and then moved on to a True Pacifist in my second run, but my experience with the game would probably have been way worse if I managed to continue through with the Geno route from the start. In a way, Undyne didn't just save the Underground, she also saved my Undertale experience. As far as she could, at least. Nowadays I'm really sad I had my blind experience ruined like this. But it could have been even worse.

I was trying to do a ‘self defense’ run, killing who I thought would definitely kill the small child I was playing as…Only when I killed undyne is when I realized the like whole message and logic of the game: Killing people isn’t necessary- The game gives you multiple options to do things evasively or mercifully, and you literally have to actively choose to kill someone instead of defending yourself. (Ex: Being able to run from Undyne and spare monsters on low hp)
