I know Tessa and Scott said once that they couldn't perform this program to it's best form because of how much they were sidelined due to her injury, but goddamn, this is undoubtedly one of my favourite programs from them.

Spectacular display by Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue. Excellent synchronization between the music and the skaters’ movements. They seem to have a huge artistic sense , and they clearly have Dance in their Souls . Furthermore, Scott and Tessa express great joy , great empathy and complicity between them in their performances. Their displays provoke moments of happiness and well-being. Thank you for your professionalism , which allows us to enjoy excellent moments of the best in figure skating.

I always forget how awesome this program is until I rewatch and wonder how I can ever forget. Amazing already. Even more so knowing they hadn’t trained it to it’s potential. Another top team skated to this opening music also. The lifts were all amazing in one way or another. But they also did a great spin combo and choreography was fantastic too. So many neat details. Like I said before, why do I forget how much I like this program?

Having seen it again, I can't help but express the multiple good emotions I feel , when I see Scott and Tessa dancing Pink Floyd, who , together managed to transform this well-rhythmic Pink Floyd song into a true PIECE of THEATER ART. What we see here is the HUGE MUSICAL SENSE of Scott and Tessa , being totally EXPRESSED in the ENORMOUS FLEXIBILITY movements of Scott and Tessa's BODIES, who dance in full connection with each other, and with perfect dance movements. Scott and Tessa are exceptional in the Art of Ice Dancing . It seems that they love music , they deeply feel the different sounds of music, and having great empathy and good knowledge of each other, they dance in the ice rink in a relaxed way, and in perfect connection with each other . Scott and Tessa transform the ice rink into a truly wonderful dance show.'

Virtue and Moir are in a class by themselves. If in doubt, look at their body of work on You Tube! Sorry, but I don’t think PC can even so some of their earlier programs - look at the edges, lifts, feetwork, synchronicity, let alone chemistry. Nobody comes near what they do in technicality & artisty. They make the difficult look easy.

People always seem to tend to compare apples to oranges. Torvil and Dean had much stricter parameters to follow when they were competing. Go back and watch T & D's 'Song of India.' There are such amazing moves under such tighter restrictions. Why does one have to be better than the other? In their eras, they both reign supreme.

@paolasusanna6 жыл бұрын
Yes I can very very well.. Clearly you don't know at all their career..... Go and see their FD at 2010 OG (Symphony No. 5 by Gustav Mahler) or their "Valse Triste" by Sibelius.... They have been true pioneers in ice dance, P/C are only pale followers in the so called "lyric/artistic way" to dance on ice ....V/M are able to dance EVERYTHING better then anyone else... They have true VERSATILITY... P/C haven't it, , quite the same soup every year. Sorry but that's it. Only the greatest can dare changing the game.... changing style every year ..... being on the top for 12 years..... So far I don't see anyone who can tie them
@chloefavier71886 жыл бұрын
paolasusanna yes I’ve already watched their 2010 fd and I do think it’s not their best style (I’m not saying it was not beautiful because it was). They actually didn’t skate a lot of time on a classical music and I really think they could not be as good as Guillaume and Gabby if they were dancing on the same routine (2015/2018) because both team have a really different approach with the ice. I’d rather see virtue and moir dancing on le moulin rouge than mozart.
@paolasusanna6 жыл бұрын
I won't try to convince you about the fact that VM are head and shoulders above PC. French legendary and well known chauvinism is something which you can't fight against. Because your chauvinism you'd be able to state that Jesus died because of freeze. And the fact, as you tell, that VM have't had danced on classical music lately (not true indeed, in my opinion Latch IS modern classical music) don't make them less able to do that (and do that better then anyone else) Simply they tried NEW paths because they are so great and versatile that they can do everything without being afraid to fail. This is the REAL greatness. To be great in everything you do. PC have been doing the same things for years. They don't dare. As a consequence they are good ice dancers, not great ice dancers and much less as good as VM
@paolasusanna6 жыл бұрын

Imagine believing this tacky choreography, exaggerated expressions, carless handling of musical nuances was impressive artistically. It was impressive as sport - minus the botched element at the end - the lifts extremely challenging, though obviously labored and hideous against the music. But as dance and as art - one of the least impressive in the event.
