It would be awesome if the multiplayer update made each race playable with their own homeworld and space center. Then you can try to make first contact with your friends as different races.

Was pretty disappointed, buggy 15hr campaign, no replay-ability (for me at least) never felt challenged as the main missions gave you all the science you need and with unlimited parts. I do like the resource idea, I love the penny pinching and combining multiple missions from ksp1 tho. I just dont see a game loop that could keep me interested. Every ksp2 patch I play for a week then end up re-modding the first

Every time you start an "Exploration" game in KSP 2 are the missions always the same? The missions in KSP 1 we sometimes ridiculous because they were generated randomly, but they were never the same because they were generated randomly. Having only one fixed story line leads to little or no replayability.
@ShadowZone8 ай бұрын
The story missions are definitely the same, I also saw multiple people discuss a mission called "Under Pressure" which requires to send 10 Kerbals to Eve's surface and return them safely to Kerbin. Probably no randomization at the moment.

If KSP2 was released after the last update, its reputation would be significantly different.
@eekee60348 ай бұрын
Yeah. It would be better still if the storyline wasn't set in a solar system for which players have a million tutorials already. I get the impression it was developed with the expectation that players would spend quite a lot of play time working toward each goal. Sticking to the much-loved older system has cut both ways in that regard.
@jayrog8688 ай бұрын
I disagree, while it is MUCH better now people wouldn’t have known how bad it could really be so they would judge it more harshly
@eekee60348 ай бұрын
@@jayrog868 I don't know. I don't really disagree with you, but the way things have gone are very bad. KSP2's popularity has already crashed, and it has taken KSP1 down with it. Piolet1549 has graphs. Some months ago, some commenters were noting similarities in public reaction between KSP2 and games which had already failed. I think KSP2 is only alive because it and its predecessor are the only good games for space fans. If Juno: New Origins had more character and playability, I don't know what would become of it.
@thetruth456788 ай бұрын
This update doesn't even bring parity between the two games. KSP is still far superior to KSP2, and will remain so for the foreseeable future. This game was, and remains, a huge disappointment. Slapping 'Early' on the release doesn't mean it's not released. You paid full price for it. It's available to play. The creators felt confident enough to release it. All games now have a regular update schedule that adds content. There is hardly ever such a thing as a "finished" game. They released a brick and hoped the players would pay full price, then wait YEARS to get even an equivilent game to the previous version. That's absurd. You not recognizing the red flags for a scam is not validation that it isn't. It is.

... Oh this is LORE story! I thought you just dipped the game XD Slight panic over, really great vid!
@gptiede8 ай бұрын
Replacing currency with resources will only work if mundane resources like aluminum or composites exist, and you start the game with a relatively limited supply. Otherwise you can build outrageously large spacecraft right from the start. Last week Matt Lowne flew a mission to Eeloo, landed, and flew back to Kerbin with the starting tech. He is a very skilled player, but no one could have done this in KSP 1 because of limited funds, and the size limits on the VAB and launch pad. People who want to be able to build anything should play in sandbox mode, but people who want to be challenged need a progressive campaign system.
@grit99388 ай бұрын
There's still too many bugs for me. I want to play so badly but the staging bugs have caused too many disasters. If I keep trying to hammer through them, I'll just get frustrated, burnt out, and not want to play when it's actually fixed.

I have to say.....I really, really, REALLY appreciate your impartial videos. If I only had US based creators to go off of, I would have wasted my money on a chaotic mess that my budget PC just can't handle. I will continue to appreciate the genius that is KSP1. KSP2 devs can go fuck themselves with an over-confident, jagged fuck machine. Keep up the good work my friend. Please don't cave into the pressure to present KSP2 in a positive light.
@eekee60348 ай бұрын
I saw the title and thought KSP2 development was over. I've seen some pretty scary graphs, so I wouldn't be surprised. But, I guess the combination of loyal fans, selling the pre-release for $50, and making the updates which keep people interested is paying enough that they still have money to develop. I don't, of course, like the business model, but it would be hypocritical of me to hate it. I could very easily have made the same mistakes as Nate; hoping for and promising too much, and this is perhaps the least bad way forward.

The one thing I like about the KSP1 career mode is that there is no "right way" or specific goal other then success. My concern is that if the way things look now in KSP2 is how quickly one could get bored of the game. You can still challenge yourself in interesting ways like how fast you can complete the tree and such, but will this keep players truly interested in the game? So as it stands, I can only hope they are still considering something else that might be similar to career mode to keep things fresh and interesting.
