They shouted "Balke toe" when dancing in the barn. Cement floors and mealiemeal get thown on the floor to make dancing easier. Balke toe means all have to hang on the beams so as to have their feet of the ground when the meal is strewn.

Jumping up and down using £20 worth of 20p coins in my pocket to help the rhythm section along.... OMG, This it's the best version of Suikerbossie that I have EVER heard! So classy, so cool, so authentically Afrikaans. Far better than the English versions by Doris Day and Eva Boswell. If you want an Afrikaans song sung right, get it sung by a South African, although kudos to Eva Boswell for including Afrikaans in her version.... I am so HAPPY to hear Ian Roberts sing this!!!
