I wanted a darker ending. So they found the bomb and placed it in the cell, but there shd have been a 2nd bomb to go off simultaneously that would have made Nick feel the same loss and anguish. No one wins but the lesson taught. Very dark
@patrickthomas2119Ай бұрын
💯 agreed. I Love the idea that Clyde knew Nick put 1 bomb under him but says something about you didn’t find the 2nd one did you? Then he knowingly kills himself to set off the secondary as well. He makes the decision to end himself at peace with the statement he was trying to make about how the system failed his family. How it failed to deliver anything even remotely close to justice for his daughter. Clyde wins but still has the somber scene of burning while holding his daughter’s bracelet (which is very well done). The way it ended up ending felt a bit underwhelming. And I really hated that smug mayor. So her getting ours alive probably oblivious to How close she was to getting blown up was extremely disappointing

@Vaga-Bard Жыл бұрын
V for vendetta is based on the story of guy faux (the name of the mask and the name of the actual jesuit) who attempted to blow up the entirety of king james court. Yes, the king james who made the bible accessible for the general public. For so long only the catholic church had the bible and only they could say what it meant. Which is why you now see men worshipping the pope as God and saying he can forgive sin (neither is true). Once it became available for more people Martin Luther (and anyone else who read it) realized the church had been lying their as*es off to gain power and so he nailed his 10 thesis on their door calling them liars. He paid for it too. Then when it became available for everyone due to king james, the same people who lied about what it said, and killed anyone who called them a liar, sent a guy to blow up the entirety of his family.. To this day catholicism is one of the largest religions in the world. They still lie about the bible and the Vatican is the beast.. somehow, they convinced majority of mankind that God lives on a fkng cloud. Or up in the sky somewhere. Totally absurd. Its stated clearly that God lives within mankind. Not out in the world somewhere. Infact, not out in the 3d existence at all.

I think Clyde won in the original ending. He forced Jamie's character to break the law by putting the bomb in Clyde's cell. Its quite illegal to smuggle bombs into prisons. In the end, Clyde forced him to become like him, breaking the law to deliver "justice." And lets be real, Clyde had nothing to live for, he wanted to prove a point, and he damn well proved it. Death was mercy to him, after 10 years of planning in misery, he was finally able to rest. While breaking the deal maker. If Clyde actually wanted to "win." He would have never pleaded guilty. Sure everyone knew it was him, but "Its not about what you know, but what you can prove." And they couldn't prove shit, and he knew that.

Theres no need to mention him as a 4 star General because an O-10 (4 star) is a General the same way as an O-7 (1 star) is a Brigadier General, O-8 (2 star) Major General, O-9 (3 star) is a Lieutenant General. Since they each have different titles that’s just repetitive, basically like saying a 10 year decade, 100 year century or 1,000 year millennium. Also a General would stand up at attention for a mayor because it’s a part of an officers standards of conduct as well as they are just there for an advisory role since there was no declaration of martial law.

Clyde Shelton is the justified hero of Law Abiding Citizen. Nick and the entire Judicial System are the villains. Jamie Foxx politicked this horrid, garbage ending into Law Abiding Citizen because he couldn't take his character losing. Gerard Butler's character portrayal of Clyde Shelton was more relatable and psychologically thought provoking and cerebral than Jamie Foxx's one dimensional portrayal of a lawyer only concerned with his conviction rate and making deals with scum of the Earth. One of the best movies throughout ruined by one of the worst endings in cinema history. Rumors of a Sequel to Law Abiding Citizen are circulating but they killed off the true hero and the man who carried the story in Clyde Shelton. Any father in Clyde Shelton's position with his resources and ability to plan would have done exactly what he did, get justice by any means necessary for his family.

The whole 'Jamie Foxx chose the ending' narrative is false & has been debunked years ago. The director F. Gary Gray chose the ending himself & even mentions an alternate ending he almost went with in an interview. Google is free 😂
@nathanheckelman302Ай бұрын
@IP.T Another thing that's free is an opinion, my opinion Jamie Foxx is a shit actor that ruined a great movie for his own ego. If the Director had the option then he should have went with what made the most sense, Department of Defense contracted killer who was described as a Da Vinci of killing lost to a lawyer that somehow miraculously found the bombs hidden by Clyde Shelton. Now a sequel being in the works makes no sense, Gerard Butler's character Clyde Shelton is dead and Jamie Foxx can't act because of some sickness. If you're stupid enough to believe that actors don't have sway in how a movie ends then you need to reevaluate you critical thinking skills.
