Hello! This Tuesday I will be doing the first feeding for a tank I set up this week. I have some Liquizell and I was wondering how many drops I should give them each week? Also, when the next generation rolls around, should I be doing a couple drops of it for the babies along with the powder food for the adults? (of course with a lesser amount then as not to suffocate them)

How do you know how much of the alternative food you need to put in the tank? Especially with the liquid forms. Do you use the same feeding spoon to measure?

Hi Victoria, great informative video as always. Sorry to go off subject, but I wondered if you remove dead sea monkeys from the tank? Keep reading conflicting information.. some say they just become part of their habitat, others say you need to remove them to prevent bacterial growth..? Thanks in advance.

You do not have to remove them, they aren’t the same as fish and don’t pose a risk to your monkeys. The only reason why you would remove them is for aesthetic appeal or so that internet fish lovers don’t hate on you 😂😂

I grow nannochloropsis for my 1-gallon and 3-gallon tanks. I might have to try the reef phyto plankton. Is that something you can grow at home like the nannochloropsis? Also, I recently tried paracoccus carotinifaciens powder to see if I could get a nice red color from the astaxanthin. It did give the sea monkeys a little bit of an orange color. However I don't recommend it, turned my water champagne pink. I had to improvise a partial water change to get the water color to go away.

That's awesome. I haven't tried growing from the reef phytoplankton myself, it is just a mix of different algae's so i don't see why you couldn't grow your own at home. I have recently tried adding astaxanthin and had the same issue, although after a few days i found the colour died down.

Been wondering about this for when my growth food packet eventually runs out. How much do you feed them when using the liquid foods? I'd imagine it could possibly vary depending on what you use?

Exactly right, it does vary, i find liquizell only need a few drops, algae i do around 1ml, powders i use the sea monkey spoon :)

Hey Victoria. I'm in the UK too. Can you hook me up with some official foods? I'm finding that there is a severe lack of Sea Monkey back-up products here in the UK nowadays. Back in the day there was a whole catalogue of cool stuff available mail order but all I can find now is kits.
