Hello Shawn noticed you like original nemesis to reborn more can you do a video to show between the two and the retro rides having left will be bad for queues in summer as no skyride and two Rita and 13 in 1 corner to ablivion and smiler in other long walks to other rides. They should have got new flat rides before getting rid of retro rides etc. Anyway Shawn is best all around on themeparks in general. Keep it up thanks

This is a sad comment, just warning you - Nemesis was my dad’s favourite ride. He died last year in a traffic collision and I’ve been watching videos about Alton Towers the past few days because it was where my dad took me on holidays and I don’t have anybody who I could go with now. I’m autistic and I depended on my dad a lot, I feel a bit teary watching your video because it makes me remember walking around here with my dad. I know he would have been so excited to see Nemesis again. I love Alton Towers but I live in Scotland and I can’t drive and I’m just so sad that I can never go here with my dad again. I don’t even know if I’ll ever be able to go here or to any other theme park at all without my dad, so thank you for making your videos so that people can see these wonderful places. I wish I could go see Nemesis and hold my dad in my heart and get to go on his favourite ride in the world with him even if I cry. We had plans to visit Alton Towers and Blackpool Pleasure Beach again last year, we used to drive down in the night from Scotland and go to Blackpool first for a day and then the next day go to Alton Towers. We hadn’t managed to do that holiday in years. We also planned to go to other theme parks in Britain that we hadn’t been to before yet, and our biggest goal was to go to America, but now I don’t know what to do without him. He was the person who made me brave enough to go places, he’d take me to concerts and festivals and pretty much every fun thing I’ve ever done I got to do because of my dad. I love theme parks and rollercoasters so much, and now I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to visit these places alone because I can barely leave my house alone. My dad was an amazing man and it really sucks that he didn’t get to see how beautiful Nemesis is now and go on his favourite ride. I have so many happy memories with him at Alton Towers. Thank you for this detailed and lovely video. I hope you both had a wonderful time. Sorry for the sad comment, I just can’t think about rollercoasters without missing my dad, and Alton Towers was our favourite place to go together. I just miss him.

Well, one of the concepts for Galactica when it was coming to fruition was a Military attack on Nemesis so why not?

In my opinion That would be terrible we do not need more phalanx 😭😭 I would just add more space theme stuff like more planets, portals, cool stuff like blue water falls maybe or something, a redo of the station and make it super futuristic and cool, a new preshow, and abit of a freshen up maybe a repaint but in the exact same colour, and they could add lots of space themeing to that area of forbidden valley. The story could be that Galactica is the hero coming to fight the nemesis monster

Ahh, seeing these videos fill my heart with joy! I absolutely LOVE Alton Towers, it's been my go-to park since I first went!!! Entering X-Sector is my favourite part in this video, The Smiler really is beautiful, isn't it? One personal thing I'd like at Towers is Galactica being rethemed to a Phalanx-esque coaster, black n' red colouring and all (Fun fact, there was actually a plan for AIR to be themed like this!). Loved this video, can't wait to visit Alton Towers again!

Another great vlog, thanks for the tour around the Park both - Charlotte with Alton Bear and the colouring book lol ❤ The Park is looking so much better, it's amazing what a lick of paint can do, clean paths and improved lighting. You are so spot on about 59:22 Shawn. Imagine some if some of these fences were replaced with Velocicoaster type fences. It would totally transform the main sightline as you are coming into the valley. This cheap chicken fence ideally should be themed. Good that you are pointing this stuff out. You really have an eye for the details having visited so many parks.

Good video guys. Glad to see some maintenance taking place around the park, loving the Oblivion hole. Its these little touches which make a huge difference. Prices however of food, parking etc are unjustified. I think we will see a bigger percentage of people taking their own food into the park this year, which is a shame as eating on park used to be an enjoyable experience and part of the day. Keep up the good work both.

nemesis was brilliant for my 2 rides, 5th train on the morning and then a night ride later on, i never noticed the rattle so many people are talking about but maybe i got lucky with trains, nice to see your recap of all the new and improved areas

That idea of Galactica getting a Phalanx jet/drone theme would be pretty neat. The only problem is that Galactica has very little interaction with Nemesis, so it'd be hard to create a backstory that ties in with it. There would also need to be a big overhaul of the Rollercoaster Restaurant if they wanted that to fit in with the area, too.

I love The idea of re-theming Galactica to this. Imagine it painted the same blue as used in the side of the M1X building. Having a decommissioned jet fighter and a control tower with rotating radar as theming and being renamed Air Command.

Great vlog. I cannot wait to visit on Saturday! We really miss the skyride when pushing a pram around the park all day. Love the themed bits that you pointed out in the drinks re-fill stations in and near forbidden valley. These details are so important and add to the experience. Glad the park is cleaned and repainted more this season, x sector was looking very drab last season. It seems that things may be on the up again. Hopefully new flats soon, galactica re theme and the indoor rollercoaster! I do agree about the dungeon though and have never visited it. Although I don’t care for scare attractions at all.

My first trip to alton towers mustve been 1998 or 99 on 1st year high school trip. Oblivion had just opened and there was a real buzz about the place back then. I absolutely loved it that day and have been a fan of the place since. Always loved BPB but Alton Towers seemed more refined. Hopefully this is the start of it getting back to its glory days as well.

Both vlogs from the weekend are great, thank you. Nemesis looks so good, pity about Hex and and the sky ride though. Such a shame for mobility issues, buggy's pushchairs and little (and old) legs. We went last Oct for a couple of days and were doing about 20 - 22,000 steps each day (cheers kiddos!). Went to the rollercoaster restaurant on the first night and had worst meal we have ever had, esp' for the price!! Never. Again. Ride downtime over the 2 days was not brilliant either and it was not really apparent what was down and when. (Incidentally, shame that info is not available on the app any more unless you are in the actual park. It was handy to watch for patterns of busy periods and book our visit as we are miles away and wanted to make the most of it without being forced in to purchasing fast passes.). Also... I made a note of what hoodies/tee shirts etc the kids liked while we were there thinking I could get home and buy from them online for Christmas so the kids did not see them... You cannot! Big Mummy fail - A sign in the shop saying you can only buy items onsite would have been helpful! Keep the awesome work. You are my go to for theme park updates and info. :D x

Speaking off Sonic Spinball, here's a fun fact: To go along the ride, there was a Sonic themed room in the Alton Towers Hotel where you were greeted by a voice message from Sonic himself. This was the first time Sonic was voiced by Roger Craig Smith who is the current VA in the games. (Since 2010) Sonic Spinball opened to coincide with the release of Sonic and Sega All Star Racing and Sonic in this game was voiced by reused voice clips from his VA at the time: Jason Anthony Griffith. (from 2005 to 2009)

Definitely agree with you re the ride availability, especially with the fact that the park cancelled all three buyout days this year. I usually come for the John Lewis one which sadly didn’t happen. They also cancelled the Kids pass and Blue light card ones. So they had a least a couple of weeks extra for maintenance

The imagination thats gone into the concept and design of the rides at Alton Towers i think are some of the best in the world. The Smiler being my favourite, whoever thought of that should be knighted, its geneous. I was there the year the Corkscrew opened , they gave you a certificate for riding it. Happy days 🎢

I like the new map design, because in previous Alton Towers maps, the gardens was not very big compared to the 80s and 90s maps, and it is the biggest part of the park, so having it being the centrepiece of the map is nice.

Spoke to the staff member at the rapids on opening day and they basically said due to focusing on other projects like getting Nemesis ready for opening day other general maintenance had been delayed and so the rapids would be shut temporarily to start the season. Hopefully that means its only shut for a few weeks rather than more long term.

Congo river rapids was missing 2 wood planks on the lift hill hence why it’s not open (spotted from wickerman)

Sunday was definitely an off day for availability, we got evac'd from Oblivion as it stopped on the lift, then from wicker man when the fire alarm went off (don't vape in the preshow!!), then got stuck on the Nemmy brake run for a bit too. Was typical, i hadnt had a single queue line evac since July 2020 and tgen i had 3 in the space of 18 hours 🤣 Saturday and Monday were much better though so I think it was just bad luck

Just got back from a day at towers. Luckily it’s only a 20 min drive from my house. Had a good day with low queue times. Nemesis reborn was on a 5 minute queue all day. The longest queue time was the usual thirteen and Wickerman. Both topped out at about 40 minutes at peak times but stayed at about 20 minutes on average. X sector seriously needs a revamp. Can’t believe how sad oblivions queue looks now. Hasn’t changed since I first went on it when I was a kid. Galactica needs a serious re theme too. Looks cheap and tacky. Finally, Rita is getting unbearably uncomfortable now. Definitely needs new seats and restraints. On a more positive note, certain areas like gloomy woods look really good and I do love the curse of Alton mannor. Thought the change from duel was great. Hopefully we get some major changes soon as Alton Towers is a great park.

Station and track look amazing, however rather poor operations today. I think every ride had down time today (including Nemesis). They had two trains at the start, reduced to one train around 11am but then they sent the train round only half full (back half empty) - and the ride kept closing throughout the day. The red colouring for the water is probably making a come back for pumps have been installed for it apparently. Hope things will settle before it gets really busy

Not an engineer either but I think the issue with nemesis may indeed be a train issue or kind of track issue, but I'm also unsure how easy it is to fix. Since that final corner is a very gentle upward helix, the wheel mechanism might be a little too loose for it to be taking that element at that kind of speed. It could be that smoothing out the curve could help but I think maybe if they can find a way to speed the train up going into that final turn it may also improve or help that issue.

If they give Galactica another theme I would love to see them incorporate Air. If they did that it’d be nice to maybe get the old Air music back for when you’re queuing for the ride or maybe a remix of the old air music? I still miss it to this day!

When i got my 2 rides on Saturday on nemesis i know that end helix is extremely rattley but not uncomfortable however the rest of the track is alot smooth especially the transition from the zero g roll to the over bank

The track for the attractions don't just need a jet wash, they need a fresh repaint of their colours because there can still be brown rust on it such as the smiler

I'm not a fan of roller coasters because I have a height phobie. After seeing Nemesis Reborn my daughter and me are planning a trip to Alton Towers and I AM going to ride Nemesis. Might be a way to get over my fear. Great vlog you guys, x
