But that doesn't have to absolve him of his crimes. Just to understand where the cruelty is coming from, like in Mindhunter.

I think the reason the most enraging part of it is Needle and the helmet being stolen is because coming to terms with a murder of a friend and making it relatable to most of us who haven't had friends murdered is too big a thing to fit into one chapter, whereas most of us have had prized possessions stolen or at least lost. It reminds me greatly of the bit from Hitchhiker's where Arthur Dent is trying to come to terms with the destruction of the earth, and he gets only small reactions until he realises that McDonald's has gone which is when it really hits home...

I agree, I think she's the best character as well. She really gets around and lives a more adventurous and full life as a young teenager than can be imagined. Yet, when the story ends it's like her life is just beginning and look out world.

The Warg prologue chapter, it points out how difficult it is for a warg to take over another person. It goes saying he’s basically the best warg alive and still couldn’t take out this old woman who’s seemingly weakened, freezing and just barely surviving. It could explain why the three eyed raven couldn’t just warg into whomever he wanted. Their spiritual pressure is too high, the struggle too real

In regards to the trolley problem. I think at the base level basic math would dictate that you switch the tracks to run over the one person instead of 5. However realistically speaking not all people are equal in value. So it kind of comes down to who they are. And you can cut that up many different ways if it's 5 Old men in their nineties. Versus one baby or you know someone like 10 or 12. Then you would be saving more years by killing the 5 old men. Also what if the one guy is like a doctor or a physicist or something really important needed in valuable. And the other 5 are like I don't know field hand farmers. If the doctor dies how many other people are going to die because his services went with him. So I think it comes down to mostly who they are specifically.
