I really enjoyed the story of F. Herbert in the beginning but he lost me on the distant future jewish secret community. I just won't continue. Just don't want to waste my time on something that I don't like and focus on some other exciting books. I believe that the real story was the first book and he didn't even think about continuation. When it became so successful he came up with the Messiah appendix (and later idea of charismatic leaders shoud come with a warning on the forehead etc..). Children of Dune and God-Emperror were the conduit that he used to put in his deep philosophical thoughts on wide spectrum and development of civilization in great detail. I think, God Emperror is my second favourite in the series due to philosophical ideas and I want to iterate that original dune is just flawless masterpiece and actually not so loaded with philosophy. I would rather be much more content if F. Herbert stopped on the original Dune and just wrote down some philosophical essay on the topic of civilization development in the wake of succes of the book. In Heretics and Chapterhous he ran out of the philosophy and just kept the story going. Coupled with his wife struggle for life it made some parts of the last two books a really crumpled slog. I just give up to go on. Whtat else I wanted to say is that real Kwizatz Haderach was the Frank Herbert himself, 'a shortening of the way'. He was the one who was entertaining a multitude of distant fututres of our civilization. He was the one who chose and carefully presented them to the reader. It was his own way how to present what's going on in his head.

7:12:23 ok I think the less convoluted theory as to why Joffrey and Tommen would be the rightful kings is because of the right of conquest. Birthright monarchy is ONE legitimate way to become king, but TAKING it is too. Daenerys and Viserys refer to Robert as the usurper, but no one without a personal stake in the matter disputes that Robert was a legitimate, lawful king. He could take it, he took it, and he had it, and it was legal, right? Ok. So. It’s pretty bullshit that the way men do these things (war) is legitimate, but the way women do it (subtlety and tricks) isn’t. Cersei had the power to take the Iron Throne from the Baratheons, and she did. She took it for her sons by conquest. How is that a less legitimate way to do it than by fighting a whole war? And especially because Robert specifically named Joffrey his heir - like, he’s the king! Can’t he name whoever he wants? If he had named Loras Tyrell heir to the throne, sure people would’ve been pissed and confused, but is there really any reason a king couldn’t do that? And to top it all off, “Joffrey” (Tyrion, but whatever) won the Battle of the Blackwater. His mother took the throne for him by conquest. He was challenged in battle, and won. How is he any less a legitimate king than Robert was?

Jaime and Cerci being actualy Targaryen, while Tyrion is Lannister seems interesting to me... Tyrion being similar to Tywin, and Cerci having an Targaryen streak, being a heavily incestuous pyromaniac of the wildfire kind and Tywin prefering them over his only real child who is as mishapen as his 'mind' i guess i could call it, makes it a little poetic

Maesters could have 'killed' Targaryens not actual dragons... again not in physical combat, but by manipulaton of the lords and information.
