For the case of dustcaps pushed in, l recommend using a vacuum cleaner to suck it out again. Use the hose without any adapter and start with a low vacuum. Increase the power until the dustcap pops out again. Had to do this every time my kids, who were toddlers then, came across my SWR cabs. Those toddler fingers are small enough to go into the stretch metal speaker cover. Small children will use any tool to do what they think is a good idea - until they are ready with destruction.

Why not aluminium cabs? They made HiFi and guitar cabs out of poured concrete to have the pure tone of the speakers and no resonance or tone of the housing. And to have maximum floor coupling. I have heard that some studios have one, and the tone is great.

Glenn, talking of small amps. Lead tone: I've had a discussion with the lads in our band about then fact that I prefer a lower wattage amp (Mesa 5:25 or Marshall 50 watt Super Lead) cranked on the Master Volume and pre-amp gain a little lower Vs a bigger amp with the Master Volume turned down but pre-amp turned up for lead guitar tones. I dig the old school Michael Schenker and Yngwie tones for lead work. The compression that seems to happen when the power tubes are made to work for their money makes the lead tones sing, IMHO. What do you think?

Would be nice to have some of the playing samples played through the room microphone :) In any event, it's interesting how Glenn said that the bass should come out more when the back of the cabinet was removed, when the opposite happened in the mic'd up audio. The flubbyness was gone and the guitar was able to cut through nice and even. Even more proof for the pudding that the cabinet has a far more significant effect to the guitar sound than many gearheads seem to think :D

Kind of off topic. But I was looking around in reverb for a flanger pedal. Originally I'm looking for a substitute for the ada flanger. Greatest flanger in my opinion but just so expensive. Anyways I came across a line 6 liqua flange. Now I know line 6 doesn't exactly have the best history of equipment. But from the looks of the features of this pedal, this actually looks promising. Would you be able to in any way review this in the future?

Expectedly, there's less bass (or more mids/treble) with back off... obviously it's acoustically different so it'll interact with the room differently so it might not sound the same on mic that it does in the room...

... So you're saying that material makes a difference, and that somehow disproves that material makes a difference? People have misunderstood the tone-wood debate forever - There is no objective 'better'. There are no magic wood slabs that make your guitar sound better. Brands selling you specially cured woods are selling you snakeoil. That there is a difference in sound between two equally cut slabs of wood is hardly controversial though.

@@scottdixoninc.4317 ok, but if you use two of them in a 2x12 with a 50w amp there's no issue at all. 250w is more than enough for my marshall major, but I really don't use it at all. despite being 250w the copperbacks are rated at 100db just as the V30s, the CVs are 98dbs. so I don't see how the power rating would be the reason to choose a copperback, tone qualities I can accept because that's personal.

He does however seem to have the bandwidth to send out demo units or units to his personal associates. I know (or think at least) you’re reviewing the idea of aluminum cabs, but the mention of Scott Dixon may end in some poor experiences for people watching your channel.
