#1- He was wearing a special sneaking suit. #2- Inside the rooms, you have a certain amount of heat, unlike the "snowy places" in Alaska. #3- As soon as Solid Snake started to go down the Blast Furnace, his "cold cover" started to wear off, because of the intense amount of heat in the Furnace. #4- His sneaking suit was meant to protect him from the harsh cold, not from harsh heat.

By the way, those who wish to know, the liquid substance, it isn't lava. It's molten steel or iron or something. They would have no use for lava. Blast furnaces are used for creating items.

Lexus i always did near the tight spot where the ration was below the stairs near the big door its easier doing there and you dont need to waste items like rations of course escaping it would be a bit hard

Yeah, i wanted to blow the guard down with a nikita, then when it exploded, also the thing came half way down, so i shot another one at that thing and it came down, found it somewhat funny :p but i got msg1, VR missions, mgs2, mgs3, mgs3 substance, and mgs3 cheat disc so i'm still discovering all kinds of things cheers
