Always try to de-escalate street fights at all costs. You might think that you can win the fight because you are bigger but you don't know what will happen and you can get hurt.

Absolutely right. Quick story I am sitting at a bar watching college (American) football, enjoying a pint, and literally minding my own business. Guy comes and sits next to me. He begins to pester me, obviously trying to start something. I noticed the man was built, not huge, but much more muscular than me. I changed the subject to him to feed his ego. "Damn bro, where u work out"... Started asking for bicep building exercises. The whole tone of the encounter shifted. Eventually, he left me alone to my game. Not worth jail time or worse.

Don't drink, don't do hard drugs, and don't hang out with drunks or druggies. Follow that advice, and you'll avoid about 90% of streetfight scenarios.

At least 90% I’d say. I’ll take it a step further and say don’t go out at night in places that have the potential of getting rowdy. My wife and I love breakfast so we do breakfast or lunch dates all the time and it’s typically cheaper and way less crowded especially breakfast. Freaks come out at night!

@@mtnbums2000 I happen to be a night owl, so I've done a lot of work and play at night. Yeah, it can get sketchy at night, and some neighborhoods should be entirely avoided at night, but the darkness of the night is nothing compared to the darkness of drugs and alcohol. Of course, a lot of people do drugs and alcohol at night, so you aren't exactly wrong, but some of us don't do well trying to be day people.

Very true. I was a geeky long haired metal head in a small town highschool and what got bullies off my back was being assertive but don't escalate. I simply maintained eye contact and ask them what's the problem without cussing, name calling or any other insult. 9/10 times they back off and for the 1 time it gets physical and im dragged to the principals office, I'm off the hook. Now this is mid 90s highschool so I'm not making any guarantees this will work on the streets of today. However, I'll say you'd be amazed how far you go if you minded your own business.

Yup. Too easy for someone's head to hit the ground. Then you're looking at the possibility of paralysis or even death. And the one who walked away may be walking to jail. Happy to say I'm 60 years old and have never hit another person. I've been able to walk away every time. May have felt weak for doing it but did it anyway. Many of us may lead an angry life. I do. 24/7. Yet I still won't hit anyone. Was approached by 4 guys once when I was around 18. They'd come to the arcade looking for a fight with the punk crowd. I was outside the arcade and alone when they approached. Harassed me and I moved away from the wall. Not one of them landed a blow. I saw the guy to my far right lining up to deck me. I ducked and threw him over my back. He landed back-down on the car behind me. I then took that opportunity to bolt. They didn't follow but rather took their fight inside the arcade. Found out days later through a friend that the guy I flipped had fractured his shoulder blade. Maybe that taught him to stop being such an ass. One can only hope. Without even trying, I hurt someone. Gotta be careful.

When I grabbed the 2 knuckleheads and told them they had started a fight with a pro boxer and they were lucky he didn't throw a punch they quickly apologized and bought him a drink and then left the bar. Thankfully the boxer was working like a matador and didn't hurt those 2. He was a very secure man.

Smartest fight video on KZbin. This is the REALITY of actually getting in scraps. I know one person who went blind in one eye. Anoty person who lost their hearing in one ear. Both were lucky they didn’t die from head trauma

Correct advice. You never know what other has under their sleeve. It's a very thin line between life and death. So it's better to de-escalate or choose to get tf outta there, or be ready for whatever coming at you.

I love this ❤ the fight isn't worth it. Learning self defense to be able to protect yourself and those you love as an absolute last resort is essential, but those fights are chosen carefully. Or should be. People have died for really stupid reasons street fighting.

A good reason to avoid a street fight is that if you win, you will be the one responsible for helping the dude you just beat
