As usual. Super work jamie. I tell this to all my trainees. Regardless of their level. Position, technique, accuracy are the holy trinity. They overcome speed power and aggression. That's why it's called the science of violence. TYSVM for helping the sport like you do. Keep up the great work..🎉

The Tyson fury example doesn’t fit because 1. The other guys feet were in a stance and 2. Tyson pushed him down.

They weren’t, he was off balance as seen before he was stepping to him. His foot hadn’t hit the ground hence why the uppercut did the damage.

Also He has a habit of squaring up his body - habbit from kickboxing days . Square up - become vulnerable

Don’t bring your feet together or square up when closing the range on an opponent with good counterpunching skill set. Or pay the price 🫠
@RimuruTempest-px3tvАй бұрын
@BoxingLife what does square up mean?
@BoxingLifeАй бұрын
@@RimuruTempest-px3tv Squaring up means positioning your body so both of your shoulders and feet are facing your opponent directly, (watch the Crawford vs Porter or Taylor vs Ramirez clips for reference to this.) Rather than keeping one side slightly turned or bladed. This makes you more vulnerable if you rush forward because it exposes your entire body and reduces your ability to generate power or defend effectively, while it keeps you off balance. Counterpunchers love this because it gives them a clear target to exploit to the body or head. In some instances using a shift forward to close gap on your oppoent can work, but can be dangerous if a counterpuncher anticipates this. Hopefully, this helps you understand.

@@BoxingLife Great vid but not clear for me. Roberto Duran constantly squared his body while throwing cross to close the distance. Mayweather is also well known for this. Do you think it was a mistake?

@@BoxingLife didn't Roberto Duran and mike tyson used to square up in close range??
