I've seen this play before, black as a master plays for second place or the win by letting you and red hit eachother. He knows he is no threat to either of you so he can guarantee himself the second spot, for example if red gets wiped out, he could end red for the second place finish.

I agree, and he kept hitting Pete because hitting 1's benefitted him much more than a possible bad roll on a small cap. At least until his stack was big enough.

@@FreePeteit is also a strategic in a sense where the other players decide to fight eachother only, in the chance the destroy eachother via suicide then he can come in an frolic to victory.

It's insane how close black was to a viable caprun at 37:00. We don't see red's Spain cap obviously but it can't be big.

My level is expert on the game but because I am constantly watching you , yesterday I managed to pull some high elo play by first card blocking a master and kill him on the next three turns then started to address the player with big bonus (red-master) and survived the fight and finally , a grand master player (black) was going ham on me while fighting red so I take an oath to grant him 3rd position and I did 🎉🎉

Wow whay a begining .also.if yoh were wonderimg whay was going on, im sure you figured it out later (im still im the beginning) pink had a big stack.protecting his orient bonus. Purps tried to block him out. It was a further confirmation when the turn before you took a look, pink went to russia to snatch purps cap and take back his northern orient position. Bit oops, the ol petman was there cuz purps is a psycho with where he put his cap. This in turn caused magenta to loose his shit and slam his stsck against red and whoever else. Ie red got bug and hit him, and he wasn't stopping anyone with his number since he was focused on putting troops in to protect his bonus lol.

It's obvious that Black either had an under-the-table alliance with Red, or he's playing for second place by not being threatening to Red by only attacking you. Personally, though, I would've been more aggressive rather than turtling up so much. I agree that Black was being too passive there. That 105+ stack was perfect to attack your 3 caps before you stacked up too many troops there. Or I could've made an alliance with you to gang up on Red, who was the most powerful player at the time. That being said, they both did well this game. You had it rough. 😅

Pete why did you go for the black kill at the end? You knew he had two 50 caps whereas red only had one 70 cap bc he threw his last two gens and his entire set into you. He was definetely the weakest player on the board. It felt like they were teaming tho since black didn't have any reason to be antagonized by you plus red stole his cap. And then he stole 2 red caps back and red still went for you. Seemed fishy

There's a lot of risk to that in a vacuum if you get bad dice but it's compounded by the fact that blue is right there and gets to see that

It would have been a 12 v 4 roll, even with good dice and losing 6 troops you now have 2 caps with 3 each and blue can take them right back

No real benefit to taking purples cap either. It’s only an extra two troops and now you have two caps to defend, with a blue cap keeping you from getting your bonus. Also, as it turns out, pink was in there with a stack to protect orient bonus. Pete wouldn’t have been able to do what purple did, which was clear pink out of there, leading pink to bot out.

From reds perspective, he’s seen the entire board except Russia, and there’s 3 caps in Russia, so it was probably obvious where the caps were even if he didn’t see them

Pete you threw that game at the end. You were out earning them and in a good spot. I'm not sure what you went out on black. Black seemed to have more troops on cap than red.
