For me and my network with money, we've come to realize it's really the opposite. When your financial success is obvious, people will consciously or subconsciously avoid you or project that you are "out of touch" which makes you feel like you are on an island by yourself. But as soon as your business tanks and you are back broke, everyone comes back to you as they aren't as intimated or they feel like "see, money isn't everything".

Obviously, unless a person is a trust fund baby, you’ll have to work. I have nothing against work, and worked 80 hour work weeks in my twenties and thirties. The big key to this, is your overhead. How much your lifestyle will cost. A materialistic lifestyle, means you’ll need to work a lot… for a long time. I work full-time too (mostly remotely) but as I’ve gotten older and since becoming a mother (one toddler), I no longer feel the need to extend myself for work the way I used to in my 20s. Those big company roles I used to want no longer appeal because I’d rather have the freedom of time, less stress and still get paid. Also the things I wanted the money for, I no longer want!! Fancier car, handbags etc. A comfortable home and happy family (who I get to spend time with) are my priorities. I’m still able to enjoy myself, save/invest here and there and that is fine. In fact, I plan to work less if we expand our family.

Very true Tim; the more money the more problem. I don't have a lot of money saved; but I do have enough money on a monthly basis to keep me sustained; and not have to rely on work to up keep. I do have a charity for a local church, and for the greater good.

All good. There is an issue sometimes with how much to save though. I mean, folks also become obsessed with saving as much as possible for raining day.

The best of times, the worst of times…it is both or whatever you choose. Dickens had it centuries ago.

I'm 24 and I've caught on to the "money isn't everything" mindset and it's here to stay. I got friends I care about, I'd rather spend time with them and have a great time than work some miserable job I hate just because "I need to get this money". Once I got enough income to pay the bills, have some for leisure and some hobbies, some trips here and there, and save for the future; any more income is meaningless. If I can fulfill all those previously mentioned requirements with $40K/year, working more to end up with $50K in that year isn't appealing. The world is much more than money, enjoy your life. Also don't let your life revolve around your work cuz employers cuz they will replace you any time they see fit with no hesitation. "The only people who will remember all those extra hours you worked are your friends and family."

Im making more money now than ever before but working 55+ hours a week. I feel completely burned out. I was happier and healthier when i was broke working 30 hours a week. Money is not worth your happiness or health. I know from experience.

I find that really the only time I want money is for necessity means just to survive or if there is something I really want I will maybe work a bit more just to have enough funds to get to that point which isn't all that often, but I don't ever want to make more money than I don't need. Money is only as valuable as what you buy with it and even then the value on things is subjective. An example that happened to me is that I needed a backcountry backpack for a hiking trip, I could of went to REI or anywhere else and got one for $3-400 but instead I went to a thrift store and I found a good condition 65Liter backpack made by North Face for only $15. No tears, just a little dusty from being stowed away for a long time, it even had some matches in a waterproof case inside of one of the pockets. Don't let society tell you to chase the next best thing if it's not something you are want/needing.

Great video today Tim!! I do stress over money, but it's mostly due to me having to manage money for my entire household, not just myself. Then again, I've been a lot more comfortable with my money since I built up my savings.
