Simple but delicious spicy prawns roast..My grandmas recipe... A true thani nadan dish ..
Ingredients
Prawns 1kg
Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 1/2 tbsp
Normal chilli powder - 1 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Green chilli - 4
Ginger - medium size
Coconut oil - as required
Curry leaves - 6 strings ( plenty of )
Water - as required
Salt to taste
Remove the outer shells and the black thread like layer inside the prawn
Wash the cleaned prawns in salt water and keep it aside
In a blender mix all the powders along with green chilli,ginger,salt and some curry leaves by adding enough water
Make them into a fine paste
Pour the mix into a kadai by mixing it with more water
Add the prawns into it and mix well
Cook till the gravy become dry
After 15 minutes check the salt and make adjustments if required
Roast it well in medium flame
In between add plenty of coconut oil as well as plenty if curry leaves
There should not be any water content in the prawns
Roast till the prawns gets a dark red/brown colour and a nice smell comes out if it
Transfer into a bowl and serve it with rice or with your favorite combination
